Spent the majority of the day shopping around for shop lights with no success! Drove all over Omaha, Nebraska and not a single place had what I was looking for. Also went to go buy tooling for my mill from a local company (MSC) who used to have items in stock and now have absolutely nothing (order online only). Pretty frustrating.............but my electrician showed up..........and...........I HAVE POWER!!!!!!!!!!

The Double Lugs for drawing power off of the house. I have 220 amps measured off of my shop panel now.

Finally got to cut the umbilical cord from the house!

Hopefully he will be back tomorrow to finish some of the lights and switches. Nice ending to the day.

      NICE PROGRESS!!

I've found shopping local is hard too - seems if you're choosy - you have to order online. I ended up getting all my electronic ballasts to re-fit existing fixtures online - way way cheaper than any place I found locally. Still have to get them installed, and choose which T-8 bulbs to use.
There's always something new to learn.

I just couldn't find the quality of light I was searching for. Either it was overpriced or cheap and flimsy. I found some nice lights on EBAY for a decent price and am tempted to just buy those. I just wanna spend my money once!

My Dad used to say, "let your fingers do the walking!" Other words call before you go to see if they have what you want. Always saves time in the long run.

Got some parts in for my mill today so I figured that I would start to get it setup. These are leveling pads that also absorb vibration.

Now I just need to put a call in to a friend to help me do a once over on the mill and level it with his precision level. Luckily he maintains and repairs CNC machines in the area so hopefully I learn a thing or two in the process. I think I can get him over if I say there are some cold beers in the fridge......

Well, had a few setbacks but my inner shop is ready for rough in inspection and I have LIGHTS! This is just temporary lighting until I can decide what to really spend my money on.........

Also started working on sealing up the building with spray foam and got most of the perimeter done.

Today my dad and a friend of mine helped my get my mill in order. It's now level, greased, lubed, and run through its paces. The machine is tight and in immaculate condition. I can officially turn it into a workhorse!

Got my electrical rough in and framing inspection today - PASSED!
Starting to move in a few more pieces of equipment.
                  More framing this evening.

Looks like the Bandwidth to my Photobucket account exceeded its limit. It will reset itself in 5 days from now and show back up (bare with me if you've been following along) in the posts. I started deleting old pics to make room and started a new account to post from moving forward.

Got the upstairs wall started. Its a short wall only about 40" tall or so but it will tie into the truss.

We also finished up the headers above all the doorways and finished framing around my one window in this area. This morning I decided to start putting in insulation in some of the walls that I know I'm finished working on.

I also had this left over plastic so I figured I'd use it where the insulation is exposed. I may use the areas for awhile before I seal them up just to make sure I have everything where I need it.

Next BIG project is getting my 18,000 BTU A/C Unit installed and ready for use. Looks like I need to make another 220v run.

Well, I got the A/C Unit installed a few days ago and is now wired up after my electrician finished up some odds and ends yesterday. It works pretty good and boy did I need it putting the insulation in last night! I still plan to make a better support for it but at least it works for now.

                      Insulation installed:

The only insulating I have left to do is above my block wall in my machining, a little under the stairs, and the ceilings. I also still need to build my sliding wall where the black plastic is at.

Things are still progressing but have been trying to keep caught up with my side work. A good friend came over and helped me get my block wall painted. We went with an epoxy paint in hopes I don't ever have to mess with it again. I also have some shelving units I plan to get installed in a week or so.
