Was influenced early by dad racing 3/4 midgits (2-4 cyl open wheel dirt cars) and his buying a new '64 & '66 Chevelle SS396 those years. Got my permit on the '66, and still have a weakness for them. My 1st car car (15 yrs) was a showable '23 T-Bucket (2 jobs thru hi school), then went to tec school auto mechanics (bled too much), then auto parts class, and worked in that trade for 25 years - until I bought a 1:18 scale die cast car during an extended lunch one day. Quit the day job 10 years ago, as now own an online web store (www.Supercar1.com) that employees 5 and ships 1:18 toy cars world wide. Talked with & signed contracts to do the scale cars of Bill Grumpy Jenkins, Ronnie Sox, Dyno Don Nicholson, Dandy Dick Landy, Shirley Drag-On-Lady Shahan, and Arnie The farmer Beswick. Something kind of cool for average old no college me. Got hooked on cool events by going to the Street Machine Nationals in Indy in '77?, Power Tour about 11 years ago, Drag Week the last 2 years, and have been hooked on cars forever. Been extemely lucky to sell a lot of small toy cars, so I could buy some petty neat big cars. That's me. Already love this site!

Day job is: Professional Land Surveyor. Current project is my 86 Ford Ranger, because it's probably the sneakiest place to hide a 545" big block. If you can be sneaky with a motor that big..... I'm a Mopar/Ford guy mostly and this little truck has been through a few versions. Once it was a stock little 2.9L V6 auto trans, then I put a Garrett T3 on it and it ran mid 14's until the cast pistons dies in a freak boost controller accident, then I swapped in a EFI'd 4.2L V8 (the 302's bastard cousin). Once it finally died (thank God, it was very slow) because of a TPS malfunction (forgot to plug it in...oops) it was replaced with a genuine 5.0L roller motor. It Ran low 15's with a balky T5 backing it up. Got bored with little motors and decided to build a real big one. That's where I am at now... slowly piecing this sucker together.

Bill Ballinger age 47, Bonne Terre, MO. I can't talk a lot about much I have done because it involved very fast ugly cars, back roads at night, and no headlights.

I have been a car junkie since before kindergarten, and put my first ported and relieved Ford flathead together (with the assistance of an uncle) before first grade. Tuned the old man's street racing Y-block until the '55 Fairlane body rusted off. Graduated to FEs and I've been there ever since. Not to say I can't appreciate all other makes, because I have put the heat to all of them and they will all get the job done way beyond human capacity and stupidity. I have a secret early Hemi fetish, shhh!

My name's Denise and I live in Livonia, Michigan which is a suburb outside of Detroit. I own a 1947 Oldsmobile ragtop with a 1970 Olds 455/400TH combo. I purchased "Project Big Olds" from Steve Henderickson in 2001 and have slowly been completing the build.

I've put over 70,000 miles on him since 5/2002 when he was ready for the road. Some of those miles have included a number of HRM's Power Tours, which I am a many time long hauler, R&C '05 Ego-Rama participant, which included driving Big Olds from Detroit to CA then putting Big Olds thru the paces for 5 days out there then driving him home. I have also done a couple of ladies only Lipstick Runs over the years and have driven him out to B'ville for Speed Week a couple of times. I am not afraid to get in him and drive across country. It's what I do best. ;D

In 2005 Big Olds got paint. This past July he finally got a top on him and currently he is in Austin TX at the South Austin Speed Shop getting a Fat Lucky interior and windows installed. Yes, your reading that correctly, over 70,000 miles with no top, no windows, no interior, no heat, air or stereo. I lived through it but I am ready to roll with class and style now.....and burn my yellow rubber duck wet suit that I never left home without. :P

I'm a very active member of the HAMB and post my event "adventures" there on a regular bases. I will post a couple ones here in the near future and if there is a postive response then I will continue to do so.

I can be found at most large car events East of the Mississippi on a weekly bases. If you see a medium purple Olds convert cruzn by ya at a show, just hollar. I love to meet new people and talk hot rods. They are my passion, my life. 8)

Needless to say my fingernails aren't ever polished ;D

How are ya? We met on Power Tour when in San Bernadeno one year. I either had my Yellow Prowler or the White PT Cruiser with flames. You did a double take when I said "girlfriend & wife" in the same sentence. Then had the PT at your house for the pre-tour party when Power Tour started in Detroit. Glad to see you're still in the (life) hobby, and nice to see you found this place. Hope you mom & dad are doing well too.

Scott Clark. Originally from Ft. Wayne, IN - I've lived everywhere from Atlanta, GA to SoCal. I met Keith Turk, DF and Chad at Drag Week 05, where I was riding shotgun and helping tune Parish's blue pickup truck. As everyone knows, when you hook up with Keith Turk, your work is never done! My strange EFI addiction plus Keith's contacts soon had me doing EFI systems on a handful of really, really cool cars... ultimately, I ended up doing an 18-month stint at Spectre with Shaun Callaway (on here already), a great friend and lots of other great people... where together we developed the eMS-pro engine management system! business downturn at Spectre killed what was the most fun job one could have (Heinricy? psh!)... but the ems lives on with a new owner and a lot of happy customers (some on here)

anywho, I maintain the tune on the Huber mustang currently (4-cylinder, 8-second legit street car), helped CDMBill with his big-inch Ford, tune a twin turbo BBC studebaker that runs at Bonneville, also have done a Cosworth DFV-motor'd car that runs at Maxton and a handful of other EFI freaks out there.

I have no project car of my own. Why? because I get off making other cars go fast! nothing brings better satisfaction to me than a car running an EMS that I tuned, built or designed, setting records and pleasing owners. Sounds strange, but some people here get off on worse things I'm sure...!


Currently I'm living in Omaha, NE and enjoying a low cost of living in a nice big house on 5 acres... ;-)

20 years off and on the family farm have taught me one thing, "Make sure you can fix it or find someone quick ho can". I've got a 2001 Corvette that was in 06's Drag Week and 07's Top Speed challenge. It gets around and is fun to beat the hell out of not to mention 12 hour road trips. My next project is to finish my 70 Chevy shortbed that I've owned for over 11 years. It served alot of duty as a drag only truck before getting back on the street many years ago. Now I'm hoping to make a nice cruiser out of it again (ever have one of those "Hey guys watch this moments?"). I spent last drag week working on everyone else's stuff because my Vette lost the rearend. But every year brings more and more friends ;D
