I really used to like "Super Pete" driven by Mike Welch from Washington State.

A regular visitor to Vancouver Island Canada back in the 80's and early 90's. He always put on a great show at Saratoga Speedway or Victoria Speedway. Always ready to sign autographs for the kids, I remember him as a class act.

      I found this youtube video:

I hate to go with the obvious choice, but hands-down Bigfoot is my favorite. Dreamed of that truck constantly when I was a kid, and even today it has a profound impact on me. I'm a self-proclaimed Dentside Ford nut, and Bigfoot is the greatest one of them all.

Here's another old-school Dentside monster truck owned and restored by a member over at Ford-trucks.com, Jeff Strand. This truck "Thunder Beast" has been around since 1976, and Jeff rebuilt it in 1990 to the current configuration. He did a great job restoring it, and attends a lot of shows, parades, and demonstrations with it. And get this - He DRIVES the truck everywhere around his hometown. Apparently the vehicle laws in Montana are a little more lax than they are most places!

Check out his website for specifications and history on this truck: http://www.thunderbeast.110mb.com/index.htm

I also remember seeing King Krunch run back in the day, back when he was running the old extended-cab Chevy body. Cool truck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufhA5u_wEeA

Re: Bangshift Question of the Day: Do You Have a Favorite Old School Monster Truck

My favorite was not really a monster truck per say, but the tracked version, Bigfoot Fastrax.

Here in Amarillo, our monster struck shows were really just halftime shows during the truck & tractor pulls in the Amarillo Civic Center. The floor of which, is arena sized (hockey rink). So the monster trucks really didn't ever have much room to run.

One year, they had a couple of trucks and Fastrax was there too. The trucks seem to take forever to get all lined up, do their wheelies over the cars, etc. Then Fastrax comes out and proceeds to completely shred the cars. It didn't matter what direction or what speed. It was awesome and really made the monster trucks look lame by comparison. Funny, I don't recall Fastrax ever being there again. lol

Okay, this is a tough one...I mean everyone loves monster truck, and if you don't..well there is something not right about you.

I have a couple that I would rank in the #1, I am not the kind of guy wo has a favorite one thing...

the first would have to be a Chevy Cameo sponsored by Skoal.

the other would have to be the original USA 1

Big Foot 1 is a no brainer

and the first monster truck I had ever seen was at the 1982 WoW show in Pittsburgh Pa...it was called Mad Dog. Sadly I can not find a single picture of the truck on the net.

Would have to also go with the first big foot. After that they got jacked up to high and they really didn't need the fender openings.

I met Bob Chandler a few years ago, he brought his RV into our shop for work. Nice guy, very humble IMO.

Growing up bleeding Chevy Orange it was hard to root for Bigfoot even if it was the local favorite. My hero truck was USA-1 with Rod Litzou behind the wheel. He wrecked it all the time having to pedal through the front end bouncing after the landing. I watched Army Armstrong announce several races on TV in the early 90's and still remember when Equalizer (the S10) started dominating with independent suspension.
                          GM G-bodies, because I can't afford a 69 Camaro.

The Equalizer truck with David Morris at the tiller was unbeatable for a while!!!
