I hope to get the 292 for the '54 screwed together this winter. I have the head ready to go, the cam and lifters and engine swap mounts, dual exhaust manifolds, clinton intake, and a set of stock cast replacement +.030" pistons I got cheap off ebay.
Need to get the block cleaned and machined, crank checked out, and pistons put on the rods, gaskets, bearings, rings.There's always something new to learn.Comment

Don't waste your time with all that checking stuff. Three stone hone, Sam Adams as lubricant, wipe it down with a T-shirt covered in 30 weight, put the slugs in and go. Unless you don't want to do it my way.
