I can remember mom collecting them from our local supermarket...A place called C&L. Those things were good for anything from kids toys to home furnishings...crazy.
Can also remember everything had a price tag and not a bar code. Sailin' down Memory River.
The Hutcheson house is in Ypsilanti, MI and is a WAY cool old mansion. It's now the home of a non-profit. I got to tour it a while back - ol' Mr. H must have made a PILE with those little stickers. No idea where Mr. Sperry lived.

I remember them everywhere, mom and both grandmas collected them and got all kinds of things with them. I remember cashiers knowing how to make change and count on their own.Comment

CRT, black and white..19 inch was huge, the remote never worked, the dial stuff was stronger.
My Air conditioner to this day is intentionally a dial setup...with thermal switch.
S&H is something my mom did for short time, nothing was ever stable enough to stay penny pinching for long.
