Suppose it is hard to make a trip when your fuel allowance is being used for repairs..
Suppose time plays a big part in it too...

The fuel allowance and time isn't the half of it, like Joe said we'll let Tony explain, but the pics don't look good!!!!........

The motor took the "suck" part of the combustion cycle too literally.

I was wondering if the valve that busted pushrod was feeding was sticky/stuck in the guide.
                Escaped on a technicality.

I told him to contact you to see if you have a head. Did not hear back from him.

I think we should give Tony a little time, I'm sure he's pretty pissed right about now(not a good time to be making decisions)....... Sure know I would be........

All depends if the motor was actually "rebuilt" at one time..
And how much metal is in the motor...
What's the oil filter look like inside?
                          Fix the head and go?
                          Both heads?
Since going a long ways.. Squirrel's known engine is probably best way to go over a junk yard unknown?
Since there has been 2 plane tickets bought... Might as well see it through... Fix it however..
Small block to get home and fix the big block when funds become avaiable.
Personally..i wanna see Tony get this beast back home... I love the one tonners!

The motor was fresh 5 years ago and only had about 5 hours on it, sounds like the guy who "broke it in" broke it...improper break in procedures is what it sounds like from what Tony described.

So like the Javelin, do we need to start thinking about setting up a trailer to trailer cross country adventure?

It did suck a valve only a few minutes after they fired it up and moved the truck.

He and his pop are hopping a plane home tonight. Not sure what the long term plan is, but a trailer to trailer relay would be cool...this is a pretty big SOB, though.

We'll see what he wants to do.
