Carpet looks lovely. A not quite as permanent as powder coating but possibly cheaper way to chrome your bumpers is to have them wrapped.
Will Loren let me have this?

I've actually thought of making polished stainless bumper covers, from material I already have laying around. For sure we'll make a few small things such as rocker sill plates.
Boy, that's a pretty fun little car. We cruised 5-10mph around the area for what must've been an hour, sippin' drinks and waving to neighbors, on the charge from two parts-store deep-cycle batteries which are each about half the size of the old dedicated-electric-vehicle ones that were in there. And, there's room for more...I think we'll end up with four big six-volt ones when we can budget it.
Everybody loves it and wants to ask about it, from the gangsta-homie at the beer store (yes we went there) to the soccer-mom in a Tahoe. I think we could have traded it straight across for a lowered Acura (blech...)
Interesting history on that thing. Apparently there was a company in Long Beach CA building "Auto-ettes" that, as they were doing good business, had a few employees split off and start their own shops. Auto-ette decided to supply them rather than fight them so if you could get a little car body put together somehow, say with some angle-iron and sheet steel, you together with Auto-ette were in the electric car business. Our ("ours" like hell, it is of-course Gail's) Kelsen Sport King is crude and pretty heavy but the tires take a lot of pressure and it rolls forever when you back the power off. The exception to the weight thing is the top part which is thin fiberglass and weighs next to nothing, I guess for stability and to make removal easy. Here's a website some of the Auto-ette information is from (and there are others): http://autoette.blogspot.com/2011/01...rts-rider.html
Driving is bizarre. As you can see from pics, it's tiller-steering but...get this...with reverse caster. Why'd they do that? It's more stable backing up than going forward! Maybe that was the idea as in reverse you likely only have one hand on the steering and it would be super-easy to dump it then...going forward you can at-least use both hands.
It has three wheels, and uses 'em all...one for steering, the right rr connects to the motor, and the left has the (1) drum brake!...Comment

Maybe a Hello Kitty sticker though!
I want to talk about cute little mirrors>
There are no aftermarket "golf cart" mirrors that I like or that look right, can anyone think of cute little side mirrors from an actual small car that would look retro and be small enough to seem "correct"?That awkward moment when you realize it IS your circus and those ARE your monkeys!Comment

with how often Beags bandies about his hello-kitty exhaust tips; you'd figure he'd be first up with suggestions on how to properly hello-kitty your golf-cart. Seems kind of rude that he's holding out

Agreed! and everyone knows how much I LOVE Hello Kitty! He's not being sensitive to my needs!
I always sneak a Hello Kitty onto our cars, I have a sticker on the Cherokee (of course), and when Loren got the new truck I stuck a plastic Hello Kitty candy holder onto the rearview mirror, it was there 2 weeks before he noticed it, then it got evicted but added to his key ring...

Trying to locate some Hello Kitty side mirrors for you Gail, no luck yet. Lots of rearview mirrors, even a couple of makeup mirror type thingys that could be put on with some form of redneck engineering (duct tape comes to mind) but no side mirrors.I'm probably wrongComment

Sorry Gail, as it turns out I'm being insensitive to everyone!
Try a couple of these, you can probably attach them at the roof line. I was thinking Nascar mirror the other day, but this is stylin.

Maybe this and you can mod the marker lamps to be sidewalk illuminators...
