On the 4.30 question - the pinion gear that connects to the driveshaft engages the ring gear via X number of teeth. The ring gear can have a different tooth count just like the pinion gear can. In the case of a 4.30 gear you probably have a 43 tooth ring gear and a 10 tooth pinion gear. The ratio is how many times the pinion turns to make the ring gear complete one revolution and the teeth count is what gives you that number.
43/10=4.30
another example, 3.73 rear gear might have 41 teeth on the ring gear and 11 on the pinion
41/11=3.727
Boooghar, try setting the entire Camaro on fire - that should get you a covershot. Real Flames! If that fails, I suggest a Yanmar sailboat diesel with compound turbos and AWD.
MM (OP) - we'll derail anything, it's not a personal thing.

MM - the 4BT is a 4 cylinder Cummins Diesel favored by quite a few guys as a swap engine into almost anything where you wouldn't expect to find a Diesel. The engine is kind of large and heavy but TOUGH and responds well to performance modifications. You'll notice that they are referred to frequently on here though I don't think anyone on here is currently running one.
Probably should have noted that the early Camaro is a great car but many folks feel that it has been overdone and that magazine editors are easily swayed to run features on them when other, less well known car makes/models might be just as deserving.
