Joe's got it! When it's cold and lonely in the heat of the night I can see paradise by the dashboard lights. Of course, that rarely ends well.
As far as a place - I walk out my front door, turn right and walk a few feet, turn right again, and enter the Shop. Lots of fun toys to play with and I can make something that no one else has, just for me. Or walk into ME's studio and see her light up with a student that "gets" something new. Or rub Knucklehead's ears. Lots of Paradise around here, at least MY Paradise.

WRONG! The great oracle of truth, justice and the American Way (Wikipedia) says . . . .
Paradise is an unincorporated town and census-designated place and part of Las Vegas Township in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 223,167 at the 2010 census.[1] As an unincorporated town, it is governed by the Clark County Commission with input from the Paradise Town Advisory Board. Paradise was formed on December 8, 1950.[2]
Paradise contains McCarran International Airport, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and most of the Las Vegas Strip . . . .

That's after traveling for a living for 8 years. Home, wife, tools and toys...paradise. Even since I got Red and have done a bunch of fun things with him and grinning ear to ear then and later about it....even then at the end of the day there's a huge magnet inside me yelling, "peewee, go back HOME."Charter member of the Turd Nuggets

A tach to watch climb,
A road, barren and dry,
A heart to race,
A gut to steel,
A run, well sated,
A sweet gal to come home to, no questions asked..
Satisfaction,
Be it 2 wheels, 4 or even 6..
I've had some mighty sweet runs, full blown pissed at the world behind the wheel of the flatbed..passengers hanging on for dear life
The 57 makes short work of most roads.. Most..
But the bikes make short work of any road.. Torking up from3 grand, screaming ar 7-8-12 grand.. Life is sweet indeed...

Couldn't have said it better myself - well stated Tardis!
I will never forget my Dad driving the '80 olds88 after I'd rebuilt the carb and distributor (re-curved) and replaced all the perforated vacuum lines - He told me it ran better than the day it was new - at that point in time I finally felt that he trusted my ability to work on cars and was happy - not disappointed - that I'd followed my interest in cars, got into auto - shop in highschool etc - before that point I thought it was a hobby my folks were waiting for me to be done with and "move on to better things"...
"
When your Dad says good job kid..
The rusty part you found & made new again.
That moment your wife is happy, for a moment..
Your pet waking you up, usually for food, but on time..
Your 84yr old grandma making it to 85, AND baking the cake!
Waking up... in one piece, remembering where/who you are, still..."There's always something new to learn.
