I drivel and dravel and babble about bullshit, now I've got something to really ask here.
The DiabloSport i-1000 tuner.
I bought one to turn Red's traction control off for the road course (remember Red's weird, he doesn't have the button for that on the dashboard).
And while I was at it, I turned off the speed limiter. It was set at 140 - I'll never need that again, but...thank you Ford. Without that, Keith would have shown me the gate in Ohio and I didn't even know I had it.
A guy I work with is buying an 05 convertible Mustang GT, like TODAY. He had a red ragtop 65 when he was a puppy and when he saw Red in the parking lot, it lit his fire. He's been shopping ever since, found one in Knoxville. Red. Black and black.
Automatic (he wants his wife to be able to drive it). So I was telling him today about the tuner, you can put the 93 octane tune on it and that's good for 20 HP. And with the automatic, you can tell it how hard to shift gears and when (MPH, etc). Another guy at work said it worked wonders with the automatic, he had a GT for a while and used the tuner on it.
So, I said I already have a tuner and let me research what all it will fit. I got to looking this afternoon, and it'll talk to all kinds of rides. It'll even tune Bubba the Truck.
So I go to put the 87 octane tune on Bubba the Truck and it's nothing doing. It says VIN number (Bubba's number) is not licensed and no other licenses are available.
So I check the Diablo ad and it clearly says that you can use it on multiple vehicles, one at a time.
So I try to clear Red out of the tuner, and it won't let me. It says a real long key code and when I try to put that in it says I have the wrong password.
We'll need to clear the tuner for me to use it on Bubba or for my friend to use it on his Mustang. I've done some surfing and research and the general concensus is that the tuner comes with no directions, but there's lots of support available on forums.
This is a forum. Anybody got any idees?
