My daughter, Paxton, is a bit on the tomboy side, so since she's 15 we have been looking for something for her to drive. She really likes my son's Pro Street '67 short stepper and his '71 Longhorn. The only thing she wanted was something like that in 4wd. So after looking and looking, I came across a sparsely worded ad for a '68 4 wheel drive Chevy. It's a 100 miles away so I figured I'd go check it out. I was definitely surprised. It's probably one of the most rust free trucks I have seen an a while. It's a short wide with a 6 cylinder/ 4 speed with no power anything. It runs good but something is hanging up when trying to go to reverse. We negotiated a price, I pay her and take the title and bill of sale and am having my friend pick it up this week. It might not look like much, but I could probably sell the bed for what I paid for the truck. Not to get it roadworthy, or should I say worry free for Dad, and then let her have her fun. I have a tilt and a set of buddy buckets in storage, so I'm sure it will end up being nicer than I wanted it to be. If anyone has a nice set of 6x5,5 rims for a four wheel drive at a decent price, please hit me up. Here's a couple of pics when I first went to see it. If you have any suggestions, please share them
Well, it looks like my daughter has the project truck she's been wanting after all.

The first thing is to see what is causing reverse gear to stick, and then do some major detailing. I recently bought a set of buddy buckets and I figure that and some new carpet will make a huge difference. The plan for the body is to straighten as mush as possible and then just paint it a flat color till she makes up her mind what she wants the color coat to be. She wanted a 4wd and a stick shift, so she thinks she's in hog heaven right now. I told her she needs to talk to the auto body class and see if they can use it as a class project to save me some money.Nitrous is like that hot chick with crabs. you want to hit it, you're just afraid of the consequences
