    I'm staring out the window of my office and notice the geese are already headed south (normally they get here in September then leave in October)




    check that... tasty harbingers of doom.... but the season doesn't start for weeks!

      Getting the mid fall feeling.... Except mid day when it's hot..
      Garden should be spitting out produce by now.. But it is barely starting..

            It's 73* here right now. That is a normal low for this time of year, not a mid-day temp in August.

              high 40s here this morning - Al Gore can kiss my azz -- why is there a season on these flying pooping vermin? it should be open season on them year round - flying mess making ratts - feed the homeless with Geese!

                      DB.... I hate to be the one to mention this to you..... but last I checked, you were the old-timer. Quickest way to tell an old-timer is when they quote themselves... so you say it's going to be a tough winter?

                        It was 56 this morning when I went out for my run; it's 66 at 7:50 pm and its supposed to get down to an even 50 tonight. That is unheard of for August in central PA. More typical would be for it to get down to maybe 70 something and about 85% humidity, and in the 90's all day.

                          How many people my age or even your age can tell if it's gonna be a bad winter or not? .... Hopefully it's wrong and I'm just one of those darned doom n gloomers...

                              I can tell you what the weather's going to be tomorrow if all of my past sins start aching... beyond that, it'll be colder in the winter and hotter in the summer. Stop worrying about the day after that, it'll be here soon enough

                              I still think it's odd to see them moving so early - and I seriously don't believe the geese have any clue
