I Don't Do Social Media

Guys - Please don't take offense but I just don't do social media in any form. I've gotten several requests for "friends" in my BS PM system and I don't want anyone to think I'm not a friendly guy for not responding in the affirmative. It's just not how I want to communicate with others. If you want to chat please feel free to PM me - happy to get those. Some of you have my phone number and that's fine too.

I'm with Dan on this one, I waste enough time on line without joining any Social Media Sites and that would require more passwords and this old brain is already operating in overload mode anyway. I understand I have a facebook page related to the business but I've never seen it because I don't know how to log in, I'm still stuck in the 60's!

Let's not talk about how much time my wife spends on facebook!

It is a neat way to stay in touch with a bunch of people at the same time and share pictures, but some folks just don't know how to cure they're awful case of keyboard diarrhea.

I am with dan, no social media. I signed up for facebook, everything I ran from was there in nanoseconds. Teens complain of their locale yelling they are gonna leave and never come back. My adult reasons for the same rebellion keep gaining acts of god. The net is my machine vent...people suck. Never talking again.

Really, the reason I posted this thread was that I didn't want the folks who requested that I "Friend" them (whatever THAT means) to think I didn't "Like" (whatever THAT means) them. Just not my thing.

I think of it as an open Email. I don't think anyone here is telling about what they had for lunch or what they did on their bathroom break. I get your point but I see a difference.

I had Facebook for many years,but I finally dumped it almost two years ago. Big waste of time!! I used to spend way too much time on there. Who cares what you're doing,or if your kid just went potty?? I finally got sick of all of it. It was such drama when someone unfriended you,wouldn't friend you,or nobody responsed to your posts.

I spend a lot of time on the internet,but I do get out and try to do stuff from time to time. I don't have a smartphone so the internet does not come with me when I go somewhere.

My wife is very good to me,and pretty much lets me do whatever and buy whatever within reason. She's an awesome woman. However, she is on her phone pretty much all the time. She comes home from work,and is on Facebook on the couch usually pretty quickly. We get in the car to go somewhere,and the phone comes out pretty quick then also. She also has Instagram and Pinterest too.

Yeah, I don't do it, no interest in it, and I ditto what everybody's already said. Unit did Facebook for a year or so and ended up hopelessly hooked on Farmville. She finally had to get away from it.

The most biggest thing is how much trouble kids can (and do) get into with Facebook. Wow, do they ever. Like some kind of a trouble bomb candy-baited for kids. I wouldn't want to be a parent these days, nossir.
