The guy with the helmet on the ATV, second from last, looked like a win to me. It stayed loaded... We would back up to a ditch or find a hill when I was a kid, no money for ramps.

You know, the sportbikes aren't that heavy. I've never had a problem loading mine without a ramp and help from one other person.

I find it interesting that people took the time to video themselves.....

I have never once considered setting up a camera to film myself loading dirt bikes.

Oh man-have I seen a million fails. I had a buddy who tried to kill me many times. My flat tracker/ice racer didn't have a front brake. So once you started a direction, you were committed. I had the same 10" wide oak plank for years-wide enough for a bit of margin of error for the wheels-but you had to walk up + down seperate. I would place a milk crate for a step. I would start to walk backwards with the bike planning on stepping on the crate with my left foot on the way down. Well my friend would kick the crate out of the way! So where I was expecting to hit the crate, I now had a suprise 1 foot drop-and had to catch the bike! "I was afraid you were gonna step on it." "I WAS PLANNING ON STEPPING ON IT!!" He did it to me a couple of times-to the point I would make it be known "leave it in place!"
Another friend -who was a damn good rider- was borrowing my cube van-and he showed up at the house with his Honda Goldwing. We were going to put the bike in the back +send him on his way. I was going to grab the key to back it up to a hillside so we didn't have such a steep incline to push the 750 lb big beast up the ramp. By the time I got it, he had set up the ramp + RODE it up! If that failed, it would have been epic!

My good friend roadraced for about 20 years, first 5 years with only a pickup truck,he got to the point he didn't push, just fired up bike, dropped into first and clutched it up standing on the left side. The only time he ever dropped one was when a passer by thought he needed help and pulled the bike up to the right ,to a guy controling a bike from the left it feels like a "highside". The helper steered the front wheel off the ramp.

and as sad as I am about missing the 2012 DW Happy Dance (tm) on video, you should be equally happy that I don't have the barrel roll trailer on a trailer loading incident on video. (by the way I still feel that just by having seen it)

                      your point is taken though.

I was surprised at how many high-centered and lost it. Seems like something you could plan for.

Dirt bikes with a foot of clearance are easy-when I drag raced bikes, 2" of clearance is all you had. the trick was roll the bike on to the ramp, hold the brake + have someone pick up the back of the ramp. The person lifting the ramp plenty of leverage and I'd now have a straight level path in.
