Macy's is a lousy outfit, IMO. But their Thanksgiving Day Parade is an American tradition.

But what it BANGSHIFT REPLACED MACY'S AS TITLE SPONSOR?

11. Strong winds from Winter Storm Boreas would ground Chad's beard . . . .

10. New attraction: Bruab's "Farm Tractor Cacklefest!"

9. Shriners on snowmobiles would be doing "loser flybys" down the parade route!

8. Parade would start at 10 a.m. Pacific time (2:00 Eastern) so that Chad could sleep in.

7. Elves wearing festive foam GM LSX costumes would "boogie" down the parade route.

6. The New York Rockettes would appear as Esso "Oil Drop" Girls

5. The parade floats would have to negotiate a Goodguys Autocross course on Seventh Avenue

just did the PLYMOUTH ma. parade last sat. as part of the boston hero's/boston strong float.. it was ok. it would've been more fun if I was ready to be in crowds, still not ready, jumped at the littlest bang.. but needed to start or next years marathon I'd be a mess, and never make the powertour.. as I had got 3/4 of the way to the basspro car shows 7 times only to turn around and go home..
macy's is something that should never stop.. it's like as American as apple pie.

I really hated to see Hudson's (Detroit) parade go away. For a while it was continuing though sponsored by a state-wide non-profit. Haven't haven't head anything in the past couple of years so I'm guessing it's gone. Those great old department stores have seemingly vanished for the most past and their parades with them. Guess change is inevitable.
