Some one older than me needs to explain why colors like this were so popular in the '70's, Buttstain Brown, Snot Green, Puke Yellow, Rotten Orange, and other "earth tones". I've renovated my share of houses that were plagued with 70's stuff.... simply horrifying. Thankfully my folks were conservative - we had leisure suits, but not the carpet or furniture to match.
One of my Dad's buddies loved orange - everything he had was orange. Car, clothes, golf bag, telephone, furniture, even the fixtures in the bathroom - toilet, tub, vanity - all orange! Not burnt orange either! Remember the "trim line" phones in every color of the rainbow?
there's a red one hanging on the wall of my barn! not hooked to a damned thing - but I think I'll leave it there for nostalgia.There's always something new to learn.Comment

My wife's best friend grew up with Velour-wallpaper in the bathroom.
The design of said Velour-wallpaper featured lots of naked ladies.
It is still there to this day. Her dad is a retired teacher. Yes, it was his idea, and yes they still live there.
