So my wife is outta town, on a trip to DC to hang out with her sisters and party. I'm playing Mr. Mom for the weekend which has been going OK. I asked the boys what they wanted to do for the weekend. They wanted to (A) ride around in the big green truck...we've not driven anything other than Goliath since Friday. (B) Eat that a truly awful restaurant that they really like....we did that tonight and I'm drinking bourbon to kill any potential bacteria from the food. (C) Go to the drag strip to see m dad race...headed there tomorrow. (D) work on the big truck....did that today. My father in law saved an old truck tool box from his last pickup and gave it to me. We installed it today. Here are a few photos.

About two seconds after that photo, my father in law threw the welding blanket over the fuel filler. We were laughing at how dumb we where when my son blurted out the line I have for my signature, which the bad guy from Phineaus and Ferb said last night when we were watching it. "Why does everything explode so easily?"

You've clearly mistaken me with Chad.. HA! I suck bad enough with my eyes open...he can have the "weld with closed eyes by feel" title uncontested.

Todays fuel is so lousy, a welder spark most likely would not ignite it anyway

                        uh oh.

I did some weld today, still too early for structure...

gas tank is interesting.. the top side is a good idea to keep an eye on, if welding near.. as in brians situation, it did need an extra to be safe... or even halfway in line smeplace else..just eyeball it.

one could even splatter a tank, if it is in its shade under the vehicle.. halfway down and below.

ever notice alot of the meineke type pros.. they let it fly bottom side.. pipes going right by a tank. all safe...if not obvious problems of leak, vapor.

It's really no different than trying to glue them back on after she has her way.

A pic from my trip. Chad is a mini bike freak and this one is for him. I found it on Santorini. Guy was trying to sell it while I was trying to figure out how I'd get back home in my carry on luggage.

What about the fuel filter in the bed of the truck. At least you had a napkin sucking up the extra fuel. lol

                                HA!

I pulled that thing off about two months ago, hell it was so plugged up with rust from the old tank, I probably couldn't have lit it off when I replaced it.
