Got some stuff done this weekend:

    Oil change
Greased the front end (newer idler arm appeared to be completely dry)
    Replaced breather & PCV
    Replaced serpentine belt
Ordered lift struts for the trunk

Completely forgot to look into the passenger window though.

Removed the gas door to look at the possible leaks at the filler neck to tank joint and found this:

Also noticed a fairly well done performance modification:

I believe that this is extra bracing added by the convertible conversion:

I'm surprised I missed that. I almost never rotate tires anyway so its probably not going to happen. Thanks for the complement.

You bought a 20 year old car from the detroit area and it isn't rusted out, thats pretty amazing

Pretty sweet third gen, this one does not fall into the mullett mobile category and it looks like it would take some serious neglect for that to happen. I wonder if it will touch 30 mpg with a 3.08 rear over the 2.73 land speed racing special.

Nice ride Chris. My buddy has had great luck with his 91 Firebird that we had on HRPT in 14.

Sweet ride . I love third gens . I had a 87 GTA about 13 yrs till a year ago .350tpi car with 3.23 gears that i put a T5 in. Car was a blast . Took a 91 RS 305 tbi T5 with Ttops and i think 2.73 gears on trade from my youngest son after someone buckled my right quarter panel . Keep an eye on the floor at the pinch weld on both sides but mainly the driver side. If people drive with the window craked on the drivers side the wipers push water from the windsheld onto the floor as there is no rain gutter.

P.S. I hope GM2 puts you in a new tank. The first time I pulled the tank for a fuel pump change it took me 14 hours. ( I have it down to 8 now ). Oldest son has a 92 RS that we converted to a 350 T5 limited slip 9 bolt 3.23 rear. I've had alot of fun with these cars .

One last thing . If getting the old 16 gallon tank isn't hard enough to get out , there is a 1LE 20 gallon one that has baffles so you don't run out of gas in the turns when you get to a 1/8 tank of gas.

Thanks for the compliments. Looks like I will be doing a heater core in the near future. Smelling coolant while driving and windshield is fogging up. I'll probably bypass it until I can get the parts together and find the time. It will give me a good opportunity to flush the system and replace the hoses - which was on the agenda anyway.

Ordered heater hoses (3 separate molded pieces), upper and lower hoses, thermostat and gasket from Rock Auto - $57.63 Same stuff at Orielly's - $103.19

Picking up a new fan switch ($11) at NAPA over the weekend that turns on at 220 and off at 204. - Stock turns on at 240 and off at 220. Overheating per the gauge is 250. Personally, I need more safety margin and feel that 240 is overheated anyway.

I'll pick up the heater core at Orielly's next week some time. Its and in stock item for $30.

Nice camaro. I've had about 12 of them and a couple of firebirds but none of them were a vert.
They aren't too bad to work on and they do drive really good. Yours looks like a good score.

Thanks 82Z - We are very happy with it so far.

Took the dog for his first convertible ride today. I believe that he liked it a lot. We know the kid did. He loves convertibles.
