Actually I've had it up there twice now! I didn't post anything about the second trip.

SECOND TRIP: I was working nights and sleeping in the days. I spent about 5 days with electricity and ten days in a "campground". There was a regular minivan and a brand new GMC Diesel with a ratty old truck camper there frequently. A friend knew where I was sleeping and decided to do a drive by with a CAT 777 Haul Truck as a joke.

I put 9 hours on the generator and went through $6 of propane. Propane is about $0.78/litre here. Not bad for over 2 weeks of camping.

A new D11 sparkling in the sun.I get a kick out of the Hydraulic ladder on the side.

I have to figure out how to get pictures of my old phone. I have a neat one of a 797 Haul truck crossing the highway.

My door pins and bushings arrived. If it gets nice out I will put them in next week. Still hovering around freezing and there has been lots of snow lately. Its also time for some oil changes.

This is just a random picture from the top of a gas plant. Don't tell anyone I took it, they might get bad.
The plant produces food grade plastic pellets and glycol. Apparently a rail car of glycol sells for about 100 Grand.

Food grade plastic pellets? Really? Who eats plastic pellets...... am I and I'm not realizing it?
Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

Tinting the roof vents with VHT taillight paint today. Hopefully it sticks. Then flying out to Vancouver for the weekend.

Just got back from the north. It was a long ride home the highway was closed, probably another accident, and it was a long detour. I almost ran into a moose, they are so hard to see. I should upgrade to HIDs. The repair list is long and time will be in high demand this set of days off.

                      Things that need attention:
                      Fridge
Rear diff oil needs changing badly
                      speedo cable
window tint (its getting warm out)
                      valve covers are leaking
                      rear shocks
                      etc

Nice to see you made it thru the winter. Will you do another winter in it?

Alberta is BOOMING you can pick and choose where and when you want to work once again. I like having 2 weeks off, you can do some cool stuff, but being on the road constantly kinda get tiresome. If I am working up north I will be in the van. I learned a few things that would make it easier. I would add to the 12V system, I would put a bigger solar panel on, and add some more insulation. If I am not working I would probably keep it for a few winter camping trips. I'd like to hike Johnstone Canyon in the Banff National Park when the waterfalls are frozen.

I also found out the Athabasca River, a ten minute drive from work, is awesome for fishing in! I should have pictures of 8lb Jack fish in a couple weeks.

I went to Vancouver BC last set of days off. The ocean is pretty cool.

A quick trip to the pick n pull today nets:1) signal light lens
                            2) piece that goes around heater contols
                            3) speedo cable (not sure if its the right one)

Was going to grab a spare tire cover that said "Vantasia" but it was pretty rotten and custom wood steering wheel but I'm cheap.

I'm afraid the Vantasia spare cover would have gotten you put on the local authorities "watch list"

Great to hear from you again - still working in the frozen tundra?
