    my 67 F100 build on a budget

I bought this truck in 2010 for $1500 for my son to drive to school kinda as a father son project

when we first brought it home we started looking at it and said .....
It needs to be lower so we chopped a coil and a half out of the front and flipped the spring hangers in the back and dropped it 3 inches all around . cost me $2 bucks for nuts and bolts

    he then said ....
it needs to be hotrod black!
so after a little research he and I sprayed it with rusteoleum satin black with a harbor freight spray gun
    cost me $75 bucks !

he graduated 2 years ago went off to college and left it behind for me to toy around in its a blast to drive
my mother in law made me a blanket seat cover for the 93 F150 seat I grabbed at the local pic a part for $50 bucks
and I even treated it to parking in the garage this winter
I have been slowly picking up parts for its next stage
    I scored a low mile 1971 400 engine and c6 trans for $250 bucks
and I got a 3.73 gear posi 8.8 rear for it cheap too
today I picked up a 2004 Lincoln Towncar front suspension for $200 so I can do a Fast n Loud style
suspension upgrade I think Im holding up to the $5000 challenge

Smooth looking ride! I look every now and then and never see an affordable Panther front end. I really want to do that to my truck... It would be really nice to not have to "herd" the thing.

Your truck is really straight looking. Pampered life?

I'd love to build up an early 70's F100 like that. Great project you have. I can' t wait to see more. Oh yeah, did I tell you I hate you?

It's almost like what I did with the old 292 in Ernie, if I were going to do it over again I'd probably get a microsquirt instead of a microsquirt module. That setup is cool, but not $1200 bucks worth of cool, especially considering the fact that you've still got to plumb it and wire it anyway.

The Silver Buick also did the same basic thing to his '67 T-Bird.

I think any hot rodder/shadetree mechanic of average ability should be able to do a TBI conversion with a little planning for under a grand and over a weekend.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about how I did it.

log in problems have kept me from updating progress but I think they are solved for now

got my front clip off which came undone surprisingly easy and the more I look I'm finding the whole thing has been apart before ( big surprise )
went at it with a couple cans of good old fashioned GUNK degreaser and went at it with a power washer amazing how clean my frame is
gonna do the big push memorial weekend and go to the point of no return once I cut the original cross member out there's no going back !

                              attacked it over the weekend
only took 4 hours to remove the i beams & steering box
took another 6 to get it in place for the first time
