    Spirolox Tool

It's a subject that comes up each time I have to work with them

Any preferred choices for the removal of these wonderful little guys?

I use industrial strength dental pic type tools to remove them. AND punch holes in my fingers! Someone makes a tool for removing them, but I can’t remember where I saw it advertised. Don’t know if it’s worth the money.

I'm trying to pull the name up but there's a guy in the Charlotte NC area that makes a dedicated tool for this. IIRC, the plastic version (suitable for home use) was around $35. He's the same guy who made my Chevy 250 lump port head. It was a machine shop and he came up with the tool as a result of doing this job too many times.

Let me stew on his name.......

Lock-in-tool makes a plastic one (~$45) but it appears only in .927 which is too small for me needs at this time.

I looked up Lock-in-tool and yes, that's the guy, Clyde Norwood. If you contact them they might be able to make them to size. I'm thinking they did them on a CNC lathe and could input different diameters but no idea on the cost.
