    Ppf wrap

    Hey guys,

I’m thinking about doing a PPF wrap on my car soon and just wanted to hear your experiences. Was it worth it in the long run? How’s it holding up against chips, scratches, and regular wear?

Also, did you go full wrap or just front end/high-impact areas? I’m trying to decide what makes the most sense without going overboard.

Any tips on what to look for in a shop or things to avoid? Appreciate any advice

    it's on my Corvette's hood.
    Thoughts:
If you didn't know it was on there, you would think it's paint.
    It's expensive.
How is it working, 2 years of racing and it has no damage on it - has it been hit? no idea.
I did it because I got tired of the glare off the hood in some light conditions - chip protection was third or forth on the list.

    one thing you must know
the paint under the wrap must be smooth. That means that if there are chips, they have to be filled, and smoothed before the wrap is applied.

We have a friend who had a late model Forrester wrapped. It's a fairly big SUV and she wanted to be red instead of the black it came in (it was a slightly used car so she had to take what they had). For some reason they talked her into a mat finish and it looks like it's in red oxide primer but that's just a matter of color. It's been on there maybe 3 years and it's sunk back from some of the opening cuts like around the gas filler door. It hasn't shrunk much but you can see it. It also cost $1,000 more than my paint buddy would have painted the car for.
