i got a fiberglass trunk lid ok and it has an eletric trunk pop opener... my qustion is how could i go about hooking it up, it had a ground wire and a power wire that is suppose to go to the switch now when me and my dad went to hook it up it just blew fuses. what can i do for it to work and not blow fuses.

how big are the fuses it blows? and how big is the wire coming out of the popper solenoid? they usually take a lot of current.My fabulous web page

What I did was hook the ground to a part in my trunk and hooked up the other wire to a button and then to the fuse box and then when I get the switch it blows a fuse. I can't figure it out so of yous know a diff way to do it let me know n ill try it thanls

I put a elec trunk popper on my Rampage bed cover (alum) and when I
tested it for what the amp draw was it was 15 amps peak... I didnt bother
to put a relay on it but I am using a 25 amp rated switch.. the few times I
tried it it worked fine.... by the way it was a GM trunk lock off a Buick or Chevy
