No one wants to arrive only to be DQ'd or have their Pro Street entry moved into Unlimited before they turn a tire in anger.

I guess I should have known better.
I see you went to 315's ? Is the lack of response to your question why?

I ran the 315/60s last year, and they passed DF checking them with the guage during check-in.
Bill, I apologize for the part I played in the degeneration of this thread, didn't realize that was frowned upon is BS land!

Tell me if this interpretation is accurate:
If I show up with a car that is legal in every way for Street Race, but I want to move into the likely unpopulated Super Street Race category for a better shot at a plaque all I have to do is add a rear spoiler. Like a whale tail or one of those multi-element bolt on thingies that the import kids love?

I was always under the impression you could move up in classes just not down, hence the 6 cyl Dodge Shadow running in unlimited last year.

More my issue that any of ya'lls Mopar Billy. I did go ahead and buy the 315's because I couldn't get an answer to what I thought was a straight forward question regarding the DW specifc rules. I'm also hedging a bit as I figured I could get a more consistent hook with the 315/60 vs the 325/50 due to the increased height and longer footprint. The 325 is a slightly better match form a gear ratio perspective as in Tucson I was going through the lights at 68-6900 vs. the more ideal 7500. Of course the 6200 DA will have had an effect as well.

At this point I don't care was class they put me in, I just want to make it there, and make it through the week in one piece.

Moving up classes used to be a non-issue, but with some of the 'must have' language that has been added I'm not so sure for this year. DF and Co. have been pretty relaxed about it in the past even encouraging folks to move into empty or low car count classes. With 200-250 cars this year maybe there won't be any low car count classes.

I'm not competitve with the quick cars in any event so the goal is the same, finish.

I definitely want to hear the answer to this. If I read the rules right, you could put a spoiler on your car that came from a different year (but same make and model) as long as it wasn't available on your car and that would bump you from Street Race to Super Street Race....

                        In years past........
You have to have something on your car that fits the Class above. In 06 we tried to run Unlimited with Docs car be cause it was a PA/NA Class in Pro Street they would not let us because it had nothing that moved us into that Class.

I think a Picnic table on the back might do it.

The rules address moving up Classes:

[FONT=Arial Unicode MS]Vehicles with rule variations may be classified at the race director

To answear your question mopar billy, DF would probaly make you stay in the Street Race category. We tried to put our street race car into modified by stripping the interior and got denied. I think he is mostly looking for suspenion related items that would give someone too big of an advantage in there class.

Neal, the black Shadow (bottom pic) was running 15's and finished last in the Unlimited class according to the final results from last year.
