Me and my co-pilot added it all up, $2800 for us. This is just gas, hotels, food, entry fee and $400 for a two week truck rental. Gas prices killed us having to tow 2400 miles round trip at 14 mpg, and the 1400 mile drive at about 10 mpg.

Not a question I like to look at too closely, but I have a great co-pilot who splits the gas, hotels and food with me but damn the gas is the back breaker. Okay that and the bar bills: kidding sorta. I'd estimate north of $4K this year due to the extra trailer costs. That is before a set of UPS overnighted valve springs and exhaust rockers we changed out in the pits at Tulsa the Saturday before DW. In hindsight it was exactly the right decision after we broke a rocker loading the car on the trailer before the tow East, but it wasn't in the budget by any means.Drag Week 2006 & 2012 - Winner Street Race Big Block Naturally Aspirated - R/U 2007 Broke DW '05 and Drag Weekend '15 Coincidence?

I took two cars this year...I don't wanna know the final tally!! Prepaid for the entries and the Hotels beforehand so that sting had already dissapated before the adventure began. I can tell you the trip cost about half what I spent on the 2 cars on improvements from the year before.
My brothers and buddy helped out on gas since I already had the hotels.

About 3 k total. That's gas towing 2700 miles and the 1400 mile trip. Hotels for the week, entry fee and food. Plus I had 300 in cash which disappeared via t shirts, beer, more food, beer, a hot rod sweatshirt on the rainy day and oh did I mention beer..lol. Well worth the price if ya ask me. Just getting to hang with friends I see once a year and entertaining them with my jersey accent makes it worth it."Friends don't let friends run the daily driver class,"

A lot less than last year preparing for drag week, but definitely more during the week this year.

the trip was pretty cheap compared to the three weeks before it trying to finish an engine transplant... and getting almost enough parts to do 3 different engines... Which reminds me that I still need to order some parts.
my budget was 150 night hotel, 150 night food (includes beer), 100 / day gas, originally the entry fee, then 10x4 and 20x1 for entrance. I forgot to include gambling, which seemed to be everywhere and I have issues with it. lol. We actually came in under budget. I guess it was a couple grand and damn well worth it!Last edited by Beagle; September 20, 2012, 06:46 AM.Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.

Every penny well spent!

We got off really cheap on the hotels thanks to my wife's priority club points - we only had to pay for two nights, about $85 each.
I went through about $200 in pocket money - $30 of that was a tulsa raceway park hooded sweatshirt - I wasn't prepared for the weather.
I don't want to know what we paid for fuel for the week in the GTO - but I will add it up and post it here once I have that figure, I'm sure it's 4 digits.
Some nights dinner was $25ish each, some nights it was McDonalds, or beef jerky and peanuts.
Surprisingly - we only went through about 4 cases of beer and allot of that we gave away to friends - well worth the price! There's always something new to learn.
