To bring the "Hee Haw" discussion back to a more Bangshift appropriate vein, I really enjoyed racing with Roy Clark at the Mopar events at Tulsa International Raceway in the '90's. He started out with a NSS style 65 Plymouth called "SuperPicker", then advanced to a AWB 65 called "Hee Haw Hemi". Very fun guy to hang out with and talk race cars and music.

I was in my teens in the 90s but I was at the track a lot. I never knew that very cool!

Did you never watch Hee Haw? Every Saturday at 6:00 (I think). Back when I was in the 4th grade (1974) my mom took me and my siblings up to a tire store for several hours to meet Junior Samples. Why? You would have to ask my mom that.

Pretty sure I've heard the tire store story from your mom before, but it's been a while!

Haha some of us grew up watching Hee Haw or Lawrence Welk on Saturday evenings.... Not that we really had much choice in the matter.

Yup. One TV. Four channels. Dad controlled it. (His "remote control" was ordering one of us sons to go over to the set and change the channel) . . . Lots of "Hee Haw" and "Welk" . . . .

I never knew Clark was a racer . . . . Almost as shocking as when I found out Hoss Cartwright (Dan Blocker) owned a Can-Am car (with a Nickey Chevrolet sponsorship, no less)

don't feel bad he got my ass too i was scrambling looking for the link reinstating my insurance policy then i figured it out but it was like a mini drill and i realized how unprepared i was

As a newbie, I really have no idea how the registration process goes. I assume they will post when it is open on their website, facebook and twitter? What will I need to have ready when the time comes? I'd really like to get in!

Yep, watch those three things. You'll need a credit card to pay and a vehicle to register. Though admittedly the vehicle registration is pretty lax.

I've wondered about the process too. Would any of the crafty DW veterans care to share how the registration goes? I figured it was more or less personal and car info, pay the monies and away you go. Any more to it than that?

You usually need your vehicle insurance and registration info handy.

There is usually a link provided and you just go to the website and register.

keep all this info ready, then when they post it you just pack all the info into an envelope and mail it to them..

just kidding, be ready to hit refresh, over and over and over, etc.......

Just put down your regular "daily driver" car insurance . . . If you later get a different policy (e.g. a collector policy on a seldom-driven car . . . or even a different car), just show 'em the proof at registration . . . nobody's going to take the trouble to compare it. You just need insurance documents at check-in with the VIN of what you've shown up with to drive.

The only thing that's non-transferrable is the driver. Everything else can change between registration and check-in (and often does).

I can't help but wonder what you put in if you don't have your car registered or a VIN issued for the build? I suppose I'll put my daily driver VIN and insurance to fill the form then show up with the finished build if that happens to be the case.
