    BBR's 545 83GT

    Here it is!!!

Picked this up today and an 8.8, install kit and some 3.90 gears.

The wet pics make the paint look pretty good. It is really faded. Interior needs work, but that stuff is available.

The underbody is very very clean and that makes me very very happy. Odo shows 70k miles.

BBR, I missed out on what happened to the "Tooth and Nail" Ranger.....but this looks like it could be fun as well.

What are your plans for the 'stang? Refreshing to see someone with something other than an '87-up Fox-body(says the Camaro guy...LOL).

Is this one of the final GT's to come with an honest-to-goodness Holley on it from the factory? I noticed the dual-snorkel air filter housing...reminds me of the dual-snorkel unit on my wife's '8 Z28 H.O. 5-speed that I need to ressurect for her.

That interior looks typical of a Texas/southwest car....you-un's have rust-free goodies, but that sun is just BRUTAL on plastic/vinyl/cloth!

Looks like a great start. My personal preference is for the EFI cars but there's certainly nothing wrong with that style either.

    Have fun!

The 83 GT was my first Stang.

4 eyes are cool, I'd take any Fox, though I long for an LX coupe.

Gotta agree with Smoke, though my thing usually falls for '79-'82 GTs...my mom had a '81 when I was a little kid. Looks straight enough, almost like the paint could be saved..that interior, though, is the reason I didn't like checking out old iron in Texas. Brings back memories of the Dip's heat-rotted A-pillars.

Ranger -> I just decided to abandon it in favor of something me and my 2 boys can all ride in.

Yes parts of the interior are definitely crispy.

    Plans:

    5 lug conversion
    8.8 swap
    Swap in the Ranger's motor/trans
Drive the snot out of it.

    Suweet!
I can't wait to see this monster come together - as your sons get taller - you're going to be bouncing theirs heads off the back window when you shift!

I must say I'm a big fan of the "four headlight" cars myself. A friend in high school had a black on black 83 GT - I bet his dad still has it - his goal was to keep it factory stock and keep it a long time - he probably waxed that thing four times a summer and put only a few hundred miles on it a year...

83-84 are my least favourite of the 4-eye cars, but I still prefer that front to the 87-up. And the most important thing, you got the "porno" red interior!! :D

    cheers
