I finally decided on what to do with the rear suspension. I picked up a set of UPR Pro Series lower control arms for a nice price. They just arrived. ;D

I am going to run these with the stock UCA's for now, then maybe upgrade to adjustable uppers later.

Those look nice!

I ran tubular fixed arms top and bottom when I had my '90.

Seems like allot of guys use fixed uppers and adjustable lowers to go FAST.... if you want to stiffen up the stock uppers you could put in poly bushings and weld a flat plate across the bottom of them to box them.

Wouldn't recommend poly in the uppers if you are putting in lowers with stiff bushings or rod ends. Reason is that the upper and lower arms swing in quite different arcs, hence the nickname "Quadrabind" suspension, as opposed to Ford's name of Quadralink. There needs to be some deflection in the upper bushings, or else it will bind up at full travel. That's why the uppers get removed completely when people install a torque-arm suspension on these cars.

I had good luck with the FRPP upper arms, which are the factory style with higher durometer rubber bushings.

I was planning on running rubber in the tops. There seem to be plenty of fast cars running rubber in the top w/o any problems.

You know, I can't seem to find a real good reason to box the uppers. Theoretically it would make them stiffer, but to what gain? Why would they need to be torsionally stiffer?

Do you plan on running a rear swaybar? Wondering because those lower arms don't have the mounts for one. If you get a set of uppers with a rod end to match the lowers, binding shouldn't be a problem.

I just ordered part# UPI 101517-R, all four with rod ends and swaybar mounts for $364.95 from Summit.

There are soooo many brands to choice from, it starts to get cloudy which to pick.

The Ranger rotors are a good swap but, look for a set of complete spindles from a 94-04 SN-95, they swap over and open out a lot of big brake options.

I was not going to run rear sway bar on this car. It's not much of a sway bar anyway. lol

The Ranger rotors have been fine for me for the past 22 years on all the Ranger's I have owned, so I suspect they will be all right on this car.

Hopefully this weekend I can get the Ranger out of the shop!!!!!

Those lowers are just the ticket. You may find you'll need a Panhard bar to keep the axle in place - I did on mine. You have the right plan - from my perspective.

Is that the original motor?

83-92 5.0l H.O. motors have TRW forged pistons.
