It's just a regular Impala coupe . . . back when they used to make coupes for the family man.

I'd be all over a 63-65 Buick Riviera if I found a decent one for a good price.

Went to go look at one a week or so back with Lohnes and another friend of mine, but it needed too much work.

"Needs too much work" ought to be the name of the Craigslist vehicle section in the rustbelt states . . . .

              I had both, 78 Impala & a 79 Caprice parts car. Loved them B-cars...

Yeah, that's one of those "38 Ford" sort of cars . . .

Back when it was new . . . and real '60s muscle was still plentiful and dirt cheap . . . a Bangshifter wouldn't have been caught dead with one of those "old man's cars" . . . they had about five smog-free horsepower and a flimsy body made of pre-rusted Vega steel that had been folded like a student origami project.

But now, one of those Impala coupes would be prime Bangshifting material for Chevy fans. And in today's coupeless, unibody, FWD world, a full-frame, two-door RWD with a V8 seems like a national treasure.

                But I somewhat recoil at calling a downsized '77 "full-size" . . . .

                A '76 Impala . . . now that's full-sized!

I thought the world was ending when I saw the '77 Impala. I've hated government-imposed fuel economy standards ever since.

That time period was so depressing that I dropped all of my subscriptions to non-hot rodding car magazines (which was a big deal for a broke, car-crazed kid).

                          I'm in love, nice 73

I'm also going to steal that spoiler - brake cooling plus reduction of under car airflow

Bitchin! . . . now if you could just figure out a way not to knock off that sweet air dam on the first curb or parking barrier . . . .
