Plans? First unravel the mystery of what this car really was. I was cleaning the interior and inside a big hole in the seat i found this tag, a heavy duty seat???
You could order heavy duty seats with high wear materials for taxi and police use and if you were just a fat ass. hahaha.
Could it be an old FBI car????.Or cop.But then it would have some holes in the roof..
It does have holes and wires for dual spotlights and it also has a hole patched up on the rear deck for an antenna. I've got the interior cleaned out and I'm pressure washing the body, more pictures to come.
I have money on police car - probably for a detective or some such as a patrol car would be a 4 door and have roof lights. This is, in itself, a great detective story. Someone in lansing ought to be able to track this down from the VIN. The City of Lansing got Olds cop cars exclusively for many years, but I'll bet they were available to other agencies as well. The City of Pontiac had Pontiacs. Not sure what Flint got, as they built Buicks and Chevys (I didn't go there much).
The guy "made me" buy the M/T valve covers (they were his sons). The console has a tach, these are the other spare parts, I even got a tinted spare rear window.
This is all for now. The left lower quarter and the LF fender are about as bad as it gets as far as I can see, along with some small dents. No rust in trunk or floors. The stainless trim will need some work. The whole package cost me 2200.00 in case anyone was wondering. I thought it was an OK deal, not a steal.
The car cleaned up real nice. Looks very solid. Love that console! Does the car have power window that you can use those switches for? Car would look great with air bags or just cut a round or so out of the coils. 14" wheels on front and 15" out back always help make them look like they are moving when standing still.
Keep the pictures coming as things progress.
Air Bags sound good. No power windows. This project won't get full blown crazy unless i sell my 69 RR to finance it. I'm not ready to cut it loose yet. I bought this car to do later. I was born in 61, hence the car. As for the plates I have over 150 1961 plates and I was born in Ohio so I thought I would put them on for the pictures. It takes crazy money even if you do them yourself, I sold my 53 Chev Suburban to do my RR. The Olds is in the shop so the first order is to try and get it running, I need to remove the varmit droppings from the intake. It was parked in 1990 with no brakes. After the engine, I'll check the trans, then go to the brakes. It could possibly go the route of Troy Trepaniers "Bisquick" or who knows. had the RR out to put the 455 away and snapped this pic.

I LOVE that RR.....I may have to paint my Fury green
Pulled the intake manifold off to remove about 2 lbs. of rodent debris, some was in the intake ports down to the valves. Used a shop vac and air hose. Got the intake bolted back on and found a 2 bl carb on a Pontiac manifold I had. I'm going to see if this thing will fire without spending any money and use what i have . The intake ports look like the were ported but it came that way from the factory. The engine is a 394 2 bl. low comp.
