The first time I had 'Vette "future shock" was the day in fall 1967 that I first saw a new C3 in our town . . . parked in the grocery store parking lot with a window sticker still on it. . . Before then "Corvette" only meant the C2 Stingray. I couldn't believe it was a actually a Corvette.
Almost as confusing was when I later saw a bulbous C1 for the first time . . .
To me, the new car's not nearly as shocking as that first C3 was (and alas, not as "boss" looking).
did you really put this up there and expect to be left alone? Yay! I'm younger than both of you... but being stuck at 15 probably isn't all that much to brag about.
I think they take their design cues from the Japanese.
That must be why I thought it was a GRX - from Speed Racer in 1967.
I'll admit the first one I saw I said "Holy Shit, is that a 'vette?" but Japanimation cues or not, it wasn't that hard to recognize. I wanted to throw up on the 1983. This thing manages to make me want one badly.
When I met Squirrel, I was shocked that he was younger than me, too . . . I expected him to be a sexagenarian (Look it up, kids . . . it doesn't mean what you may assume it does)
There are a few guys in our car club who have vettes, none quite this new, but they also seem to be the guys who drive the slowest when we go on road trips. Like 10-15 mph under the speed limit slow.
