A guy named Cameron, pretty sure that's what he said it is, he and his wife showed up at the Gear Head Inn yesterday evening. They were celebrating their anniversary by staying at GHI and attending the Styx concert at the Cherokee Casino last night. Mighty nice guy. Another bit of GHI Bangshift magic, there's always some magic. He's got a 2015 5.0 pony. Court's Exhibit A:

If the 5.0 wasn't fast enough out of the box, he put a blower on it. Dyno-ed at 630 HP at the wheels. Court's Exhibit B:

Sue Unit saw this and she said Red can get one. "It so pretty," she said. unquote. She thought all blowers stick out through a hole in the hood. Red can actually get one, she's all for it after seeing this one.

Cameron walked over to meet me because we had gotten the Mustang Room at GHI, we reserved earlier than he did. He saw Red's tag, Bradley County, and said he wanted to meet "one of our own." He lives a mile away from us right here in Cleveland, I'd never met him before yesterday. He wants me to teach him how to play guitar and he's gonna turn me onto the Chattanooga Mustang Club for gatherings and cruise-ins and such.

I mean, how good is THAT, all of it?

I told him about it, there's more work to do on that front. I'll getter done, I'll insist, if he doesn't do it on his own. I'll make that happen, he just had way too much fun sitting with us last night. I don't believe he's like Tim who made a cameo appearance and then disappeared. That's my task, get Cameron on here.

Cool beans (as my youngest son would say), indeed!

Interesting how Sue Unit had an expectation of a 6:71 poking thru the hood. A friend's wife has the expectation that LSR is a bunch of guys in greasy overalls building (in a dirt-floor shed) and running wired-together wrecks . I know we can dispel this thought if we can ever get her to the track, sort of like a tidy blower installation helped Sue see "another way".

You know we'll help! I'd look into a turbo set-up if Red was mine - after the initial bill, free HP!

Cameron's set-up is a Turbocharger, not a Supercharger like PeeWee said ... Blowers do poke up out of the hood.

No, it's a blower somehow. It sure does look like a turbo setup, but he says it's a blower, unless he doesn't know what he's got. And I sure don't know what he's got but Unit says it's pretty and Red needs one.

And Steve....watch THIS. Superman's on his computer right now, fixing to join BangShift. Watch this. He went right into the house to do it, I think he will.

That's a centrfugal (sp??) blower, belt driven. Maybe a Vortec, ProCharger, or other brand. They make kits to fit the whole deal up with relatively little hassle. A turbo is driven by the expansion of the exhaust gases so there is no loss of power (a belt driven blower takes power but puts back more than it takes). Most Diesels these days use a turbo so I'm more familiar with them but NOT an expert - there's a lot to know. I'd think there would be a turbo kit as well as a centrifigual kit for Red.

Especially on the newer cars, some of the drive belts are off the "back", in other words the blower faces the other way around from whet were used to seeing. It's hard to tell from the pic but that seems to be what I'm seeing there. I'm prepared to be wrong on this one but I can't see the hot side if there is one.

                          Looks like a Paxton Novi.

hard to tell. The Vortech install is very similar. Not an ATI - they're on the other side.
