Turbo is finally mounted. Somehow it was not fitting the flange like I intended (no surprise really), so I hacked out a 3/8" spacer and that fixed the problem very nicely. I am glad this part is finally done because this thing is super heavy and has smashed my fingers a gazillion times taking it in and out.
The other pic shows how the break-out pcb fits in the eec-v case. It required a little trimming of the case, but was nothing a cutoff wheel couldn't handle. I soldered all 104 pins to the pcb today.
Next job is punching the pan for the turbo drain.

Jonathan and I were goofing off with the intake tube and we accidentally did this. It fit like it was made for it.
I am going to run it without an intercooler to start with. The 83GT seems to do fine without one but if intake temps start to get unruly, I will figure out how to plumb an IC somewhere.

Crank spacer and Megasquirt compatible crank sensor are installed. These are from the 552.
I also started on the downpipe. It's hard to get the scale of this stuff in pics. That is a 5 inch pipe I attempted to mash into an oval wityh the hydraulic press. Sorta worked, not exactly oval, but that really doesn't matter. This will get shortened and transitioned to a smaller pipe and will wiggle over the front tire and then under the car. I am thinking a 3.5" pipe will be sufficient for what I am doing.

Also I am considering removing the abs pump thing. It is taking up valuable space and I don't think it is totally necessary on this car. It is super close to the ac pulley and if I ever needed to switch to a thicker radiator, it would be a problem.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Ordered some M10 T's, they came in today and I decided to pull the ABS pump....
Oh. My. Gosh. I popped the lines loose easy enough. I expected it to leak a little but DANG I made a mess. Fluid was just leaking out all over everything. All fittings were 13mm, lines were the same size, BUT the fitting for the line from the mc to the fronts is M12 and not M10 like all the others. This added to the irritation because now I had no way to stop the flow of fluid. Great.
To make the day even better, I was monkeying with the EEC-V case to basically integrate the MS box right there with it and I completely spaced and trimmed off the part I intended to keep.

Got my M12 to M10 reducer and tightened all the fittings up. Then I bent the lines around so they are now tucked over by the frame rail and not just hanging out in space.
I also started punching the hole in the oil pan for the return line. It's kinda hard to get to, and also hard to find something to expand the hole out big enough, but I am managing.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Return line is plumbed.
I started to put the radiator back in and noticed a brake fluid drip. Apparently I ugga-dugga'd one fitting too much and cracked it. Lovely.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

I started working on the down pipe more yesterday. Afterwards, I decided I hated how I was doing part of it. I'm going start over and do it a better way. Chalk that one up to learning. Maybe my oval pipe will be more oval this time around. lol

Down pipe 2.0 under construction. I like this one much better than 1.0.
It is a 5" vertical oval that transitions to a 5" horizontal oval then to two 2.5" pipes. It's a little unconventional, but should be fine for the intended purpose of this car.
Pipes look crooked in the last pic because the end of each pipe is not cut square to each other.

Started looking at water pump locations. Where I had it mounted is a little too close to the exhaust manifold for my liking. I pulled the plastic fender liner out so I could see what kind of room I have. I could move it inside the fender but I have no idea how to mount it in there. I may just mount it roughly in the same place just farther outboard to keep one of the hoses away from the manifold.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
