I dig it. Part of why I love the nose high stance is because it seems to say "who cares" to everyone who is trying to get their car low enough to plow ashalt. Kinda thinking about a similiar stance for my Ranchero.

Some time in the 70s, drag racers figured out that raising the front end doesn't necessarily help traction...but it does increase wind resistance.

They sure look bitchin with the nose up, though!

I've had a couple 55-7 radiators given to me that had a 13 psi cap on them, and the top tank bulged out. But if you're running a radiator with a small tank, you should not have this problem, it's only a problem on the stock design radiators. I won't run more than 7 psi on a radiator in a 50s car with a stock sized top tank.

Man, if I didn't need to buy stuff like door locks and weatherstrip, I'd be all over that. Monk, you enabler, you.

                  Ok.........I'm all jacked up!

Met with Alan Posey today out in Carthage, MO
He's reproduced the Genuine Suspension lift kit and coil stool.

Alan bought his son in laws '57 Chevy by with the kit installed and
                  looks awesome (pics to follow)

We went to Alan's garage to scope out his rides......one is the Henry J
                  in the pic.
Took another pic of the setup going into my '55 shoebox.

The parts are top notch and with the correct install will perform
                  as well.

Finally got the pics downloaded of the '57 Chevy with
the C spacers. This is Alan's son in laws car and runs
                      in the 11's.
He's the one who is reproducing the kit......machinist by trade.
Didn't get the lower spring stool in photo.

Raises the front end real nice and solid as a rock.

I'll get the rear raised a few more inches and hope
to achieve my goal of gasser look.

Maybe I'll have them installed in a couple of weeks....all depends
on when my buddies shop gets an open space.

Found an extra '55 Chevy hood to use for my scoop......just
couldn't bring myself to hack up the original one.
                      More pics on that later.

I was wondering where those were going to go - now it makes sense.

Will it be hard to get the front end aligned now?

Probably makes it easier? It's hard to align them when you lower the car, usually needs offset upper shafts.

Yeah as Squirrel mentioned it's actually easier......by using the
spring stool it raises everything in concert.

Tri 5's don't have that many shims in the front end......so there's
not a lot of room to adjust.

I was hoping to post up my replacement hood and scoop.
Will try to later this weekend.

In the mean time .......any words of wisdom where to cut
                              opening in hood?

Directly over the dual quads is my first instinct.

That is where I centered my scoop...well..not over dual quads...but over the carb....

ran a piece of string fron 1 fender to another in front and behing the carb then on the left and right shut the hood and then used a chalk line to tap it out on the hood....then cut the square out.
