Get out the chainsaw, that's a ton of cutting!

That's where I abandoned my Fiat project - when I found out a 302 or 350 valve cover wouldn't fit under the hood without cutting. Brave man. Keep going.

the biggest issue is engine height, not depth. You could be 8' tall and drive a Fiat Spider - I'm moving the firewall back 12", and still will have to move the seat forward on its tracks to reach the pedals. But I don't want to put a scoop on the hood to clear the motor - so I'm going to have to get creative on that bit.

Couldn't you put a bubble in the hood along the lines of this?

Obviously I can't see where it's hitting at, but it might be a neat alternative to a hood scoop.

the entire center of the hood is hitting the intake.... I need to lower the motor, but first I'm going to have to build a frame table so I see where the ride height is going to be - still, I like those triumphs.... odd looking enough to be cute.

more tricks up my sleeve to get it under the hood - although, it'd kind of be cool to put a firehawk scoop on the hood.....

@stich, I thought about seeing how far I could stretch that hood with an english wheel; but my wife said "not if you want me to drive it".... I still don't know how a woman with that much taste ended up with me

not much of an update. Spent $200 on a flywheel and clutch (brand new from a wrecking yard). Also moved the thing around on its frame bench. Had a wasted(ish) trip to the u-pull-it wrecking yard.... didn't have/couldn't find a 8mm wrench to remove the bolt that holds the pin in the exploder's rear axle... oh well, probably should wait anyway since the rear width is determined by the front width.

keep slugging away at it. This should be quite a build when your done.

8mm = 5/16" which is also the size of those screwdrivers with the removable tips. That knowledge has saved me a trip before!
