With all the horror stories we hear about suppliers being late - it's sure nice to hear of something getting done quickly!

Ron's a good guy. I don't know what helped more, the fact I dated his daughter (ten years ago...) or that I paid up front

Why the hell do I get so excited over others projects but cant muster enough givashit to rebuild a carb?
I cant wait to see it with new paint...If you can leave two black stripes from the exit of one corner to the braking zone of the next, you have enough horsepower. - Mark DonohueComment

now that's an interesting tidbit. Is it possible that he got it done quick so that you won't date his daughter again? Made some progress on going to a half digital dash cluster.
Trimmed up the cluster backing to fit the mini-monitor.

In place.

With the trim on it. I was experimenting with that trim piece so it's got a corner cut out of it. I can use the unmodified one currently in the car.

A scratched up spare cluster lens. I had to cut a tab off the top right, but otherwise sets on there nicely.

With a full dash over it.

I may try and get another cluster backing and trim it up a bit nicer. This was kind of a practice run, it's functional and wouldn't be noticeable once install though. So we'll see. I do have to figure out what to do about the blinker and high beam indicator lights. I bought a variety pack of color LED's I'm looking at sliding between the monitor screen and the cluster trim. I also picked up 2.5amp 12v to 2 USB plugs adapter so I can power 2 monitors (in case I go full digital) and just have the computer sending the signal to the monitor and not powering it too. I'm now considering seeing what the cheapest car computer is that I can buy that will kick on when the car starts, has 4 USB ports and run Tunerstudio.Escaped on a technicality.Comment

Apparently I like fake plastic wood. My T-bird has it. My old '69 Firebird had it and I'm seriously considering putting it in my current '69 Firebird when I redo the interior. I got that dash in the picture (from the junkyard no less) because the fake wood was in good shape, the one in the car is chipped and flaked off all over the place.Last edited by TheSilverBuick; June 20, 2012, 08:28 AM.Escaped on a technicality.Comment
