here are some pics of the funky aftermarket barn doors.

here is a side veiw showing the fiberglass door frame that riviets to where the hatch was

here is the insed ofr the frame and the fiberglass doors

when they installedthe frame they put it on right over the hatch weather stripping. the hatch weather stripping no longer does any thign as the frame has it's onw for the doors. it still uses the hatch latch as the bottom latch for the barn doors

here si the top of the frame and the original hatch bolt holes

if no one ends up buying it i will probably end up keeping it so i can convert a caravan if i ever get another one

here are the parts i am using off of the van

        6 row factory trans cooler
        oil cooler
52mm TB (replacing the 4.6mm on the cars)
larger fuel rail that can support more fuel (good for the eventual turbo)
the engine will be rebuilt this way i can drive the lebaron and mess with megasquirt on a stock engine
12" brake caliper brackers (compared to the factory 10" on the lebaron)

sadlyi can not use the trans like i originaly hoped as it is a 4 speed auto the same trans that is int he lebaron so no go on that but with only 500 miles on it should beable to sell it

so far with scrapping all of the aluminum form the van i have gotten $53 so that bring the total to

        $1011
        -$53
        new current total $958

also using GTP injectors i had laying around that are 36.5# @43.5psi

        $958
        +$8
        $966

yes it also helped with the idea of taking the engine and trands out the top in one peice whent he manual says to drop it out the bottom lol

the poor fire wall took the brunt of it and the power steering pump will never pump agian lol

oh and we managed to piss off both naighbors that's a record normaly it's one or the other never bothh haha

That door/hatch conversion is a new one to me. Really cool, I'd have to keep it too.

Always have hated hatches.....not the vehicles WITH the hatch, just the hatch themselves.

That van actually looks better with its innards removed.

it's fooling you there is no floor. it's so bad right now the doors can not phisicly open up

sadly the rear doors might have to stay on the van only way to get them off is to drill though rivits or cut the back of the van off. with how bad the rust is i am affraid to do either as i have to tow it with a car dolly

the engine and trans with the half inch of rat shit cleaned off and the front accessory off (will not work with my 92 any way)

even though the trans was rebuilt the guy that did it seemed to have done a really half ass job at it LOTS of RTV like he used a single tube per mating surface and did not replacethe axle seals and put JB-weld on the rear diff cover
