Race pulleys are a waste of time unless you are in an NHRA class car chasing a few .01 seconds. If they cause cooling and charge issues it's not worth the 2-5 hp you might gain. Given the still slow 60 ft. Times I'd put the effort into suspension tuning. Drag Radials and stick cars are not a match made in heaven, a short set of bias ply slicks would change your life.

Bill I am sure you are right about the race pulley, but I would have loved if it shaved .06 off my best time. We put it on Dad's car last weekend at the Ohio mile. Did not get a good a-b comparison Saturday stock pulley it went 116 half 138.9 mile. Sunday there was a head wind. It went 119 half 138.6 mile. Would not drive it on the street but did not seem to have major charging cooling issues on the track. Two passes on two days really does not tell allot. I will keep my eyed open for slicks.

Bill is there much suspension tuning I can do on stock suspension? I have single adjustable KYB AGX shocks / struts. I had the fronts set on 1 out of 4 and the backs 5 out of 8. I started with 16 psi in the DRs I checked them about half way through the night they had gone up over 17 so I aired back to 16. Other than that I was working on burn out and launch. I am no where near consistant. I want to unhook the sway bar see if that helps any.

I used to completely unbolt the front stab bar on my 87 when I took it drag racing, for more weight transfer, and also just to get the weight off the nose! Those 1.3" bars are freakin' heavy!!

I have stock axles and c clip if you need them. Should be a a problem at this speed. We went 13.2 at 99. So your mph is close. That was in a 89gt on bias et streets. On radials it hadnt been in 13s yet. Driver also makes big difference.

Its been 99 on street tires. I will keep you in mind when looking for axles shipping might be more than I can buy some.

I have been working on my 2nd gear burn outs. First pass I had rpms too low it just bogged. Second pass more R's it kind of jurked and lurched. Got my best pass. See slip above. Third pass spun it up between 3.5-4k then there was a loud TINK. I am guessing axle. Who know what else it will not move under its own power, and is harder to push than normal. The track was well prepped they had their finials for 7.49 index. Winner ran 7.49 looser ran 7.47!

Called Tripple A, Took over an hour for the truck to show up but I guess that not to bad for an "out of town trip" Its 80 miles from the track to the house. So I am hoping I don't get a bill I have 100 mile free towing. Its sitting on the slab beside the shop the 98 GT would not crank battery is either dead or I could not get a good connection on the cables. I am going to pull the cover and take a look.

On a Positive Note I did run a new PB

Thats my 8.91 on the second pass the third was a DNF I really dont see the need to switch to 5 lugs.
