Today's progress:

The factory tach now works and so does my shift lite but the ignition switch and battery have taken a dump. I'm not sure if my alternator is alternating. It's running a bit rich too as you can see in the pic... I'm slowly chipping away at stuff. I just don't completely trust it yet.

I miss my shop. Just came in from building the exhaust system out in the driveway. It went pretty smooth. I have both sides made up and all I need to do is make the H pipe and slash cut the turndowns! Whoo hoo!

Gave myself a hotfoot with slag too. Right through the top of my shoe and burned the bottom of my toes. Oowie.

Ok, so I put the battery charger on it for a while today, checked the fuses, hit the key and the dang thing cranked up.

Go figure.

So I go home for lunch and decide to fire it up and check the alternator. I fire it up, I check the battery with a multimeter, 14.2V. The alternator is definitely doing it's thing. Cool.

I noticed the 'preset' fuel pressure reg was actually letting 9psi to the carb. I adjusted it back to 6psi and played with the idle mixture screws a bit. That cleaned up the idle quite a bit.

I'm sooooo happy the factory tach is now working!

Oh yeah, now one of my push-lok fittings has decided it wants to weep.... hobby car indeed.

Well, if thumping bird crap off of it counts as work, then I worked on the car this past weekend.

I found the source of my fuel leak.



I cut back the blue part so I could investigate why it was weeping and found that the inner liner (black part) of the Aeromotive push-lok (socketless) hose became hard-ish and tore when I installed a new fitting.

It is fixed now. Whoo hoo!
