One of the guys on the corral said his car lost power going from a small port singleplane to a stealth. He had ported e7 and a Bcam. Said the heads were too small to take advantage of the larger ports of the stealth...

I have one the other is at my dad's house I want to put them side by side and compair ports

Unless he had somebody like Thumper port those E7's, your 40p's will probably walk their dog... let us know how this works out, I'm really curious now. An E to B cam comparo with both manifolds would be interesting too.

I put the holley on yesterday feels a little softer on the bottom but I also took a couple degrees out of the base b/c it advances a lot. Its really hard to tell how something is going to run in the Mile when you have a tenth of a mile to test it. It still has lots of wheel spin.

The next thing I want to do is hook up my MSD 6al seems there are 2 ways to hook it up, #1. I think one way uses the white wire and you still need the duraspark box? #2. The other you use the magnetic pickup conection. I think this lets you remove the Duraspark?

Will the factory tach still work? In #2 do you run a wire from the old coil neg to the tach output on the MSD box?

    Look at pages 17 & 18 http://www.msdignition.com/uploadedF...structions.pdf

Page 18 style is all I've ever seen. Dist triggers MSD directly.

I got one of those connectors to plug into the distributor but its only 4" long, I saw some extension cables but they where 6' long. I think I will cut add in wire. Any idea about the factory tach?

You can always call the MSD tech line. Expect to be on hold forever but my experience with tech lines has generally been pretty good once they DO pick up. I have a Crane HI6 in my 'Stang so I have no direct experience with these units.

Well I never posted the results from the last Maxton Race. I did not get all the parts put on that I wanted. Frist run left in 3rd to see how high it could turn up got a 131.8 ~5700 rpms the next two runs I used 4th but it was a dog when shifted. 133.8 and 133.1 I am guessing this intake did not help it any. I never really entered the $5k challange but I have less than $3k in it closer to $2500 if you don't count the parts that never made it on the car. Fastest pass ever 137.7 MPH still have not made it to the short track with this car. So what rank would I be?

I did not meat my mph goal or set a record with this car. The ECTA has moved to Ohio. My street car is faster than my race car....I think I will play with it for a little while.

Have not touched my Capri sence the last Maxton race 3 months ago and have no real desire to, I am tired of it being a race only car but don't want to have to tag tax and insure another car. I can not deside if I want to sell it or part it out, but I am not willing to loose my @$$ on it. I could hang on to it for a while longer its not costing me anything and other than killing grass its not hurting anything where it sits. I have thought about using the drivetrain for somthing else like my old falcon or trying to find a fairmont wagon. If I sit on it long enough maybe I will want to do somthing with it....

Been about 6 months since I touched the Capri so I figured I should crank it and drive it around the yard a little. I fill up a bucket with water to refill the radiator. I pulled the lower radiator hose last fall b/c it only had water in it b/c it is a "Race Car" you never know it could blow up and cleaning up antifreeze is a pain. As I was pouring water into the radiator I could hear water running on the ground it was leaking some around the lower hose so I kept pouring, well it was not filling, after closer inspection I noticed it was running out of the block found 3 freeze plugs on the ground. This did not stop me from driving the car took bit of cranking to it fired up (should have put some gas in the carb) Drove it out of the field into the driveway and stole two of the tires for my DD mustang I never knew there was enough water still in the block to push out the freeze plugs, hopefully they did their job and that’s all it needs. I am still not motivated to do anything with this furd. Open headers do sound good though!
