Don't know if my latest craigslist buy will have a great mph per dollar ratio, but they sure are pretty! ;)

Think they will go well with the rust?

Its just a vibe anyway everything I have slow! I thought about trying to get a couple 10 holes cut down to skinnies w/o calling and asking I got the feeling it was going to cost about the same to get 2 cut as I paid for all ^^^ that

Nice score! Believe it or not, a couple of years ago I scored the exact same wheels/tires for my '86 off craigslist.

Wheels make or break a car. They did wonders for the looks of mine, I had to ditch the quad shocks to fit them. They were junk anyways....

Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

Put them on a scale, fronts 28 lbs, rear 40 lbs. Depending on what you compair them to. Ponies with new 245/50 about 45. 10 hole with well warn 225/60 42lbs. The stock 14" were even lighter so about 40 lbs lighter.

I think I am going to put them on my 89 and put 10 holes on this one.

Every little bit helps in the weight department - wheels are more of a bonus because you have to spend energy to rotate them.

it's a classic look - I don't think I'll ever tire of the traditional welds - they look good on just about everything.

If I am reading the rear end tag right this thing has 2.47 gears. > maybe I should leave the truck cam in the p motor I going to need all the torque I can get. 140 mph~ 4540 rpms. 150 mph~ 4865 rpm. Add a rearend to the list. I could be wrong but I figured the 302 would rather spin than grunt.

I thought those gears were sought after by the LSR guys?

yea - leave the truck cam in it! :D

Yeah most of those guys are making 600-1000+ HP I was hoping to be making low 300s. This is a 7.5 rear end if I was making that kinda power I don't think it would hold up.

I paid a guy at the corral for a E cam should have it in the next couple days. My 89 has an EFI HO cam, 5 speed 3.08 gears I think it pulls like stocker until it gets over 4500 rpms.

The 79 Capri has a 4 bbl, 3 speed auto, what I think to be 2.47 gears. E303 from day one, or leave the Explorer cam in it and maybe swap it in the car later. It is not going to save me any work by keeping the stock cam. I am changing the intake and I have to pull the front cover to add a fuel pump eccentric. I will be right there.

I just checked the parts catalog b/c 2.47 seemed like big gears, they put 2.26s in those sobs. lol

Russel put the e cam in it you will need all the power you can get with that gear. You wont lose that much torque.

Wow 2.26 that must be one hella big pinion gear! No wonder cars had no balls smog motor and 2.26 gears. Maybe I will look for some little 14" tires to put on the stock rims how small of a tire you think I can get away with? Btw they are 5.5" wide

I was looking around and the escort size tire 185-65-14 is 23.4" tall it will make the 2.47 more like a 2.70 gear. And there maybe a smaller size that will work. Small narrow light tires maybe a good thing. I will worry about that later right now I just want to make a few clean passes. Then I can worry about making it faster!

Now I need to get to work on the tow rig. I still need to wire up the trailer breaks. Anybody have a wiring diagram for a 95 F150?

I can get it from work, and PM it or post it.
