  • road trip to Missouri

My son Steve and I are going to head out to St Louis tomorrow morning....going to the FIRST robotics championship. There will be about 400 high school teams there with their big robots. Steve's team from Phoenix and my brother's team from Tucson will be competing. We get to haul a lot of "stuff" for them both, in the 87 Suburban. Should be fun, the suburban got a new engine a week or two ago, and hopefully all will go well.

Best of luck! It's GREAT of you to do this and I'll bet you get as much out of it as the kids do (which is OK, too).

squirrel txt'd and said the trans-case shift shaft seal is leaking and making a mess. He said about 1qt in 700 miles.

We were planning to try to spend the night Tuesday inSpringfield....

Will try to meet up with James in the morning herein Amararillo and find a carwash to get some oil off the transfer case and see where it's leaking. The new engine is working great, no oil leaking or burning...but we must have bumped something in the transfer case, when we puylled the trans to fix the engine rear main (it leaked after about 40 miles). These late models are a pain.

                            squirrel was here.
                            but now he's gone
                            I posted this pic
                            to turn you on.

After a little parts chasing, Jim replaced the speedo cable seals, and hopefully fixed his leak.
