Since projects like this are generally done in a Time & Materials billing method, I'd bet he's not making any money at the asking price. I've seen projects of this level get way expensive after years in the shop...when the owner has money to allow it that is. I saw it at SEMA and this thing is wicked nice. I didn't know his history, thanks Spider for posting the pix of his previous rides.Rich

I'll admit, it's a nice ride... As were/are his former cars... He does good work, no doubt there..
There is a segment of rodders who like them.. I appreciate the cars he builds, want one? No. Not really..
I'm more into fast/quick well handling street cars... I just loved the built caddy that made the car rags rounds a few years ago.. I believe he was building a streetified 2seater ?McLaren? Or something like that and was driving the caddy.. Lightened, lots interior parts removed for weight savings and handled very well..
Hijack over..
Nice car.. Pretty, shiney, aparantly fast..Comment

TC speaks the truth
Saboury says he can't take that much time off from the roofing business to attend the Hot Rod Magazine event that requires tons of time off and doesn't pay a purse ....Comment

Like a well handling road car .. A car that just goes straight very fast is to me, boring.. I enjoy it yes, but like the twisties... Backroads, right and left.. Wide tires on all 4 cornersComment

Just to clarify, RV3 runs on the street and track through the mufflers. All that is changed is wheels and tyres, diaper off, and wheelie bar off. In fact exactly the same as Rod Saboury's Corvette does. RV3 also has wipers, washers, indicators etc..
Strange that folk across the water say ours can't be a street car,and that they say 6.59 @ 220mph isn't as fast as 6.94,or 6.75.
How does that work then?Comment

If Rod won't compete for no purse and for a hell-week of parts mangling fun, I wonder if the OTP (over the pond-er) will?Originally posted by SpiderGearsMan View PostRedVictor1

I'm not sure where the problem is with the "street car" "Race car" thing - I've driven crap so bad I didn't want to admit it was my "street car" because I didn't like walking and couldn't afford better.
I guess the difference is - if somebody asked me for the keys to this to take it to the beer store, I'd say no, because it's too much for them to drive (quirky death ready race car). If they asked for the keys to my old crap, I'd say no because it was too much for them to drive (quirky death trap junk).Flying south, with a flock of bird dogs.Comment
