I haven't found anything that will take this Red-Kote off my skin... besides sandpaper.

Well here's why I need it off my skin.....
I coated the tank this afternoon and had it sitting over a 2.5 gallon bucket draining out. Red-Kote is very much like PVC cement. It smell like it and skins over like it. Anyway, we were about to leave to go to a cookout and I checked the radar and it showed thunderstorms headed our way later on. So I decided to put the tank where it would not get rained on. Apparently, it was not dry in the sump area and as I was carrying it, it was puking out the AN fittings onto my shorts, leg and shoe (and brick patio, etc)
This stuff is kinda darkish red and coagulated looking... My 10 y/o opens the backdoor and yells "OHMIGOSH!! WHAT HAPPENED DAD!!!!!!" thinking it was blood. haha He was flippin out. lol So now I had to go change clothes and then go to the cookout with red goo all over my leg. Luckily I only had to explain it to a few folks.
So now the tank is drying in my storage shed with the sump pointed down just in case. It should be completely dry by tomorrow.Last edited by BBR; July 3, 2011, 08:26 PM.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Ooops.... forgot to mention that about RedKote!
We use a lot of it at work, so I asked the guys if there was anything we'd found to remove it?
I got laughed at. A lot. By all of them. You might want to check into getting your patio sandblasted or diamond polished.
Of all the paths you take in life - make sure a few of them are dirt.

Might be easier to just replace the affected bricks!
Hopefully, I will shove the tank back in it this evening. I still need to check the fuel gauge sending unit to see why my gauge does not work.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

Farted with the fuel sender. It works... sort of.... sometimes... haha Took it apart and cleaned it. It was a little rusty and I think that was affecting it's grounding ability.
Anyway, the tank is back in and there are no leaks so far.Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

So how hard is it for son #2 to get in the back seat with the roll bar? Does he climb in from the hatch?

So I had to go home to meet the plumber (yes, again) and I decide to work on the Mustang a little. One thing I knew I needed to do was flush the cooling system. Man did I! Seems I cleaned the block up when I got it back from the machine shop, but I didn't mess with the coolant passages much. You wouldn't believe the mud that came out of this sucker. I think I will let it sit for a while and flush it again just to be sure!Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.
