yalls sit like my f41 cutlass did.

I just had to drive 30 minutes to town and back to get the right kick down cable. Now take a headers back off and put it on. The fighting/training has always calmed almost all anger in me, I think it may had been the lack of working on cars.

I do believe the tornados have stopped my progress for today.

I did wash the car during the storm though

I prefer mine to be clean when getting hail damaged too. Everything okay there?

Yeah, we got a couple tornado warnings but usually and I pray it stays this way but they avoid coming by the lake.
The Hurricane wrap around barely got us. It stopped raining and I got the pass side header bolts off except 1, I may be able to just pivot it down. It got dark so i hit the weights and gonna sleep, get up early tm.

Drilled and tapped block today. About figured out my throttle linkage. The trans kick down isn't pulling itself back in... I dont know if I screwed something up when I rebuilt it or what.

Isn't there supposed to be a spring under the plunger that the lever pushes in?

There's a button sticking out that's spring loaded enough to push itself back out if I pull the lever off, but not enough to pull the cable back in. I've even got he cable hanging straight. I put a transgo shift kit in it and it said swap to this big spring design.

Trans dipstick is in. Holddown through the bellhousing bolt is tight. Pans is back on. Cooler lines bolted up at both end. I cut a 1/2" out of the shifter linkage and its not rubbing nothing and I have all gears. Fabricated a radiator holddown that looks decent. The black paint dont match exactly.

Pulled the first three threads out of the head behind the alt, ran a tap through it and still have another 1" of threads. Crossmember bolts need tightened. Fuel line needs ran from the pump to carb. Header put back on, valve cover put back on.

Debating about changing the drive speedometer gear before I put the first fluid in it. It'll be wrong if I dont, but It'll be wrong after I change gears anyway. So i may wait.

Screw the speedometer; GPS-calibrated tach will tell you how fast you're going.

accurate tach, calculate the gear/tire/rpm, sticky note on the probably non functional AC vent. Speedo's, like brakes, are for pussies.

j/k. Kinda. You need brakes, a manual transmission, and emergency brake, or a horn. Choose 2 or less.

Good progress. If the first three threads are chased where you don't cross thread a new bolt, no problem. At 16 threads per inch, you're less than .25.... not a big deal in my redneck book. You can wait on the speedo if you know what percentage it's off, or for real, know what the RPM is in a school zone and 70. Those are the expensive tickets. That car will roll easily much faster than you think 70 is. I got bitched at for running off at 80 plus from my buddies with the speedo reading 65 in mine, and it felt like 65. Nothing was right about that speedo, and much bigger tires.
