      Re: '51 GMC,4200 Vortec DOHC - Turbocharged

I know I'm just a worry wart, but PLEASE tell the guy with the camera NOT to stand in line with the engine! As a long time dyno guy, I have seen just about anything that can fail on an engine, fail. If anything comes off, even just a belt, it's going to leave the engine bay radially, and that appeared to right where he was standing.

The engine sounded great. Maybe a choice for the Camaro at some point.

Next up the built engine at 20 psi - time for a tranny blanket, bell housing shield + cage... Stay tuned after the winter..

COOL!!! I am certainly envious of anyone who does thier own castings. Casting aluminum is not an easy accomplishment.

Its still a work in progress so some of its needs more attention to get it 100%.. good enough for now lets go cuisin'
manual valve body ? what lights off your convertor clutch
wouldn't a STS style downstream turbo setup be easier ?

Manual valve body << nope just 2 toggle switches - just follow the sol A&B on off pattern as if the pcm was doing the shifting. Line pressure control is via a transgo vac. modualtor kit. T/C on/off brake switch and a 3 rd toggle on the dash.

I have runa switch for lockup - don't forget to turn it on when in o/d - fries those clutches in no time

I prepared the wax positive and then handed the actual casting over to the foundry. Recently I found a art foundry that can do limited size AL melt that I can use. Once I get farther along with the project I'm going to go and try the pour myself. I did a little bit of sand casting last summer and its cool to see the part come out of the sand.
