okay im saying lets stop at skyline drive, stay the night in wherever the place is, all we need is a gas station hotel and mcdonalds so it doesnt have to be a big town. i dont really think there is much to do this route be cause we've passed all the good stuff such as the natural bridge and mayberry mill

here we haven't heard much from you latley, and now you sound soooo angry. what's wrong young Luke Skywalker.

the date has already been set on Oct 21 & 22. hotel has been set for Friday. only thing left is for someone to decide where we are staying on Sat Oct 22. i haven't made reservations yet in Lynchburg until it's decided if we are going back there or staying out by I-62. I would think I-62 has stuff around there, as it's where the BlueRidge and the Skyway meet. anyone know the area?

Waynesboro is close to the end of the parkway.There's a Residence Inn and a Days Inn off of 64.

click on schedule, I have been to this years ago and I don't know how late this runs into the evening or if it will fit into our day. I can also go over and talk to Sunny Lenard to see if we can get a tour of his shop on Friday. See current issue of Hot Rod, if you don't know who he is. It is probably logical to stay up there Saturday. I can try to research any ideas, lets hear them...

I'm ok with statying there. the drag race sounds cool. we may not make it in time to register, but if we get an early start, we should be able to make it there by the 2pm start of the racing, to watch. as far as going to Sunny's shop on friday, i'm cool with that. go set it up Buddy, thanks.

looking on google maps, the speedway is real close to the end of the parkway. at the end of the parkway, take a left onto East Main Street and travel about 2 miles. take a right onto Delphine Ave (which will turn into Eastside Hiway) and go about 2.5 miles. the speedways on the right at the corner Eastside Hiway and Dooms Crossing (hiway 611).

Alan, when I had dial up I would open several tabs at once and I would read one page while the other 3 or 4 pages loaded.
I still do that and usually have 6 tabs going at once so when I'm done with a page, I close it and read the next. Mainly because I would forget what I was planning to look at if I didn't

Humm we need a "like" button. I agree er "like" I would assume they do not close till 7 or 8 at night, but I don't know the venue (& they have limited info)

there seems to be a lot more choices 10 miles away in Staunton, but they are a bit pricey.

Here are the details for Friday, We can cook out here Friday evening and head up to the Parkway after breakfast Saturday morning. What would we like to do, stay at the other end for Saturday or head back this way? It's an hour + ride back.
