Thanks Dan but that sounds almost as complicated as putting a MB in a S10

I will have to dig into it and make a work list. I guess it will look like this gas tank, lines, wiring, engine, trans, drive shaft, brakes, exhaust, HVAC, radio (street car). I was thinking about reading up on 4cyl to 8cyl or carb to efi conversions.

As long as I can get it to pass state inspection it is getting tags!

The Capri showed me how much of a pain a track only car can be.

Port the GT40p's, new stiffer conical springs
Open the top ring gap on the stock hypers to about .024
          megasqurt or moates quarterhorse
Funnel web with injectors and 4bbl throttle body
          XE282HR
          HX-35
          oil pan diaper

hopefully it holes a piston before it spreads the block.

turbo on Hypereutectic pistons? Bad Bad Bad Beagle!

the wing is a bit over the top - but the rest of the car is purely fantastic.

I vote for a 408 Windsor with 225 AFRs and a cam with lift measured in feet and duration measured in hours

Something like McConnell would run in his Malibu.

                DAAAAAAAANNNNNNNGGGGG!!!

That looks like a great starting point!!!

IMO, it's hard to beat a 351 based engine combo if you want to stay NA or put a little spray to it.

But...... large cubic engines sure are loads of fun. haha

Life is short. Be a do'er and not a shoulda done'er.

some sonamabostich named BBR broadcasts that "Cubic Inch" junk and it stuck in my head like a grappling hook. Now if I can just get Neglect out of the garage, we can do some A-B testing with M's car. I'd put money on a tow truck 466 outrunning a tow truck-esque 357.

radio, okay, it's a street car.. well, will be registered. Are we drawing the line at a/c ?

The 89 I am going to use as a donor has great A/C never had to add any r134a in the 10+ years I have had it. Heat is another story the core has been bypassed for nearly as long! I love A/C! I am thinking big working heat and a/c! Really how much weight do you really save without a/c? 50 lbs?
I am really feeling the love for the wing. I may keep my eyes open for a cheap trunk, I have a couple extra hoods I was thinking paint them semi-gloss black, the purple / blue I am sure will not be easy to match, put a set of 10 holes on it! Street car! No reason for my 13 second car to look like a 9 second car this stuff will come later making it pretty is less important than making it run.

not that much unless you gut the interior. PS pump and AC compressor together prolly don't weigh 50 pounds (or I'm getting stronger. Not likely. )

problem is they are high and out front and adding a turbo will add more up front to an already nose heavy car. You did say Drag Car?

no power steering it already has a manual rack. I like my cars to be able to wear more than one hat. drag car equals built rear end and roll bar street car equals air conditioning and radio. I am NOT out to set records I'm out to have fun

ah. I'll evacuate and charge the A/C on the black car, so I get it. Are you gutting / trashing the '89?

It will be a roller more or less. The plan is to sell what's left once the coupe is done.

Beagle I was right I went back and reread I never said it was a going to be a drag car. I said I was looking for drag rollers. You never know it might get. Gear swap and taken to the mile (how big of a tire do you think i can fit? How fast you think it could go in the half with 4.10s)

shame we aren't closer - I have some "phone dial" 4 lugs you could have, they'll probably end up hose reels and bench grinder bases.
The rears are surely five lug with those beastly axles?
