the spacer route kills bearings as they are like 2" thick.
but as always, your truck your money......

aluminum adapters on a 7000 + pound truck. just saying. plus its like putting 6 inch hooker heels
    on a fat chick.......

they're billet steel and require a billet credit card to purchase.

as for your fashion choices, you do you

    kind of a fail tonight.
getting the bearing off and on was as expected

    replaced the carrier bearing

had all sorts of trouble getting it to slide apart then even more trouble getting it to go back together

the rear is making noise. now I'm pretty sure I know why. The driveshaft wasn't slipping on the shaft thus putting tremendous pressure on the pinion. At 250k miles, it's failing.

So decision time. Do I just fix? do I put semi-wheels on it? it's together and I won't hurt it more using it for the things I need to accomplish (hauling painted Blazer parts)

In other news, the rear main is leaking.... and that brings me to the other decision point. 4L80e or gear vendors. my calculation is the money is pretty much a wash - I can't get myself to spend the dollars to replace this very good running motor with an 8.1.

in the pro-4l80e camp, I have a controller (DIY tune) because I'm going full terminator x on the LS in the Buick. I also have enough 4L80e transmissions that I can make at least one good one (maybe even two). Rumor has it that the 4l80e in the Buick is good - given my luck, it won't be so the wash on price (call it $3000 plus two cheeseburgers)

what to do. for now it will go the paint shop and camp there for awhile .... but I need to be collecting parts for when it gets back.....

Finally got the Jeep off the lift so I could do a service on the truck
spark plugs actually look pretty good
    1-3-5-7

    2-4-6-8

not sure why on both 7 and 8 the porcelain failed (and the plugs look a bit oily)
    cap

    and an oil change.

only surprise was carrier bearing is toast.

But, the rear seems to be howling as it gets warm... so I'll need to fix that.... but if I was to go with Alcoa semi wheels....

I'm quite scared, this is like the 4th major electrical problem that I've solved in as many days.... if you see some blokes riding various colored horses by your house... well, yeah
I had to replace the harness, it was in tough shape

and put the interior back in

next up is probably paint... a bit more welding but paint

the ONLY way that's possible is if the oil pressure switch is stuck on... or

shall we see if ####ery has occured?
    solid yep

but that isn't the issue... I heard the sound of a short above
well what do we have here?

    yep, full ####ery

my guess is the PO replaced the a/c pump and didn't make sure the wires were clear when he tightened the brackets back on.... then thought the pressure switch wiring was bad....

I do not have many nice words to add so I'll just stop here.

    and

But it's nice to find an actual cause. Then there's something to fix instead of just head scratching.
