Dragging tail today, late garage session last night.
    - Old power steering pump off, new bracket on for a test fit. all looks good, pump arrives tomorrow. I'll need to install the pulley and test fit it, then figure out where to get AN, high pressure power steering lines. If anyone knows where I can get them made please let me know.
    - Headers off ready to send to Jet-Hot. What a huge PITA! I completely under estimated that effort. had to remove z-bar, dipstick tube, starter wires, starter heat blanket, and then weld one of the header seems where two of the pipes meet. Today at work I need to find a big-azz box to fit the headers in, or pay a packing company to do it for me.

    Now, More coffee!

Huh? Y'all whining about getting bundled up then having to PEE! How about being strapped in and on your way into the arena when the PEE REALIZATION hits before a demolition derby.. Being banged around will surely make you pee! ;))

When I was racing bikes, I had a pre-race routine so thankfully this never happened! I've heard stories... No grid marshal, my bike is not leaking any fluids...
At any rate, it sure is nice having a packaging engineering group in your building!

Headers on the way to Jet-hot, supporting a sponsor, I like the lifetime warranty idea. should have it back in about 2 weeks.
In that time I'll need to get the power steering buttoned up, fancy new TC pump arrives today.
Need to measure, then build or buy a fat negative battery cable and get that installed.
Shipping a set of headers and doing stuff using really good parts is expensive, ughhh! The plan is to do it right the first time, then never screw with it again!

OK, New CJR TC/Type2 Power Steering pump is on, fits great on the new bracket. I need to press on the pulley and line it all up. Today I ordered custom power steering lines from Brown & Miller racing. those arrive later this week, and I should be able to button up this little amazingly expensive power steering project.

Just wait 'till I pop my hood at a car show and show off my new Power steering system, Oooooh!

Headers should also be sent back to me later this week.I do also still need to figure out the negative battery cable solution while waiting for the other parts.
Should be back making noise late next week with the 2014 improvements.

Upgraded Battery cable has been ordered. If I can get the hot-start issue fixed that will make me very, very happy.

Now with all this stuff ordered, I just sit and wait for stuff to show up.

Power steering lines arrived today, test fit OK!, now I'll go out and button it up.
In the top picture, notice the contrast between the new aluminum pulley, and the water pump pulley that was junk yard fresh last year this time. I kinda like it.
I got shopping info from Jet-Hot, Headers arrive on Monday. I want to drive IT!!

Time to get to work and get it all back together!
From a visual standpoint, Jet-Hot did a great job both inside and out!

Just two last under-hood things that are bothering me.
I think I'll replace my ugly quick-fix rubber fuel line and cheep fuel filter between the carb 'T' and the fuel pump with some of those nice -AN lines from Brown and Miller Racing. I will likely do one of those dry-break fittings in there too. You can see the fugly lines in the photos of the power steering.
I'm also going to replace the black Spectre flex air intake hose with the classic red silicone flex tube found in most race cars.

Cool story actually. The current Owner of one of the original SS AMX’s, Pete’s Patriot, runs “Patriot Racing Products”. He worked with Edelbrock to re-introduce the STR-11 cross-ram with only a limited number available. I think it’s remarkable that Edelbrock was able to work with a small company to re-tool for a short run of a product like this. There were some changes to the new one in order to differentiate this from the originals.

Now that I have it… ugh! Which carbs? Best street option would be the Holley 4150 390 cfm carbs. Total cfm of this choice would be less that the 800 dp I have on it now, and the car runs great.

Next option would be the 4150 600 cfm option. That may be too much carb for my motor? I don’t want to kill drivability of the car.

EFI option is out there too, but if I would do that, I would only want to go with TPI, not throttle body. It would take some very creative thinking to get a TPI setup on this intake. Creative solutions = $$$$

I have time to figure it out, gotta save up for carbs now! And I have lots of other things to do on the car first. But it sure is cool
That is an awesome piece. The 390's will likely be too small. People forget that when sizing carbs the pressure drop changes with dual quads on a common plenum manifold. That's why early Trans Am cars were running two Dominators on those 450-500 hp 5 litre motors. There are a lot of mods needed to get two properly sized dual quads to have the right metering orifices and internal passages. Pairs built for the purpose could ultimatly save you money. As an aside I run two four throttle bodies on the 598" motor I use in the street strip Drag Week car. They are rated at 2200 CFM each.

I recently took a ride near home - took a side street I've never been down before - and boom - there it was - a spitting image of your car before you started on it, I'll inquire as to his intentions with it... it's outside, so he can't be too serious.... :-)
